When i said "You can now build picket fences" I'm implying i've already read the mag which i have. My question is in which tab are the new things to build becuase I'm having a hard time finding them.

Picket fences should show up under Structures>Fences>Picket Fence. If they're not showing up there, I'd try dropping the magazine and picking it up again, in case it didn't register properly the first time (or loading an earlier game and picking it up again for the first time, if it isn't too far back).

You could also try travelling to a different settlement and back, since on rare occasions I've had a section be temporarily missing despite having previously built items from it in that same settlement (like one of the shop sections being missing when I was rebuilding my shops at Oberland Station).

If you have any installed mods, you could check those to see if there are any noted clashes or bugs, especially if any of them add or alter settlement objects.

Or you simply have mods that add too many keywords. There's a limit and mods that add lot's of new things to build - whether in the workshop or crafting bench - will hit that limit and prevent other stuff from showing up.

Yep. This is why I have been conservative what I have been adding in to my Workshop. I am leaving a lot of stuff out, just because I presume that updates to mods that I already have will extend the content further during the gameplay.

Thread resurrect: make sure you got the correct issue. The magazine is called "Picket Fences" but there are 5 different issues. Each enables different buildable items; only issue # 1 enables actual picket fence settlement items (which it souncs like the OP had):

#1, The House of Tomorrow...Today! Beantown Brewery In the foreman’s concrete wall office, upper walkways of the main vat room, near the steamer trunk. Tower Tom is guarding this room. "You are now able to build picket fencing at settlement workshops"

#2, Modern Hearth! Hardware Town In the upstairs office on the desk with the key, center of the building, near the steamer trunk. "You are now able to build high tech lights at settlement workshops"

#3, Essential Upgrades! Saugus Ironworks Blast Furnace area, on the catwalk just below the steamer trunk and bobblehead. "You are now able to build new statues at settlement workshops"

#4, Modern Lawn Care! Combat Zone On the formica table, ground level near the bar, in front of the main stage. "You are now able to build potted plants at settlement workshops"

#5, Welcome Home! Weston water treatment plant In the metal office overlooking the generator room, before descending to the main treatment chamber. "You are now able to build patio furniture at settlement workshops"
