ENB Crash on Startup
Recently reinstalled Windows 10 and started modding Fallout 4 again. For whatever reason d3d11.dll is making my game CTD on startup. It didn't crash before with this same ENB.
GTX 1080

Installed on SSD

Im presuming you installed everything else and not just the d3d11.dll?

d3d11 and d3dcompiler from enb v 0311 and then all my preset's files. Did it exactly how I've always done it and how it's instructed on the enb's page.

Are you launching with F4SE and is your ENB based on ReShade 2.0? If you answered "yes", that's your problem. F4SE and ReShade 2.0 are incompatible.

One or the other must go.

No, it doesn't use reshade. This preset has always worked with f4se.

And it crashes without f4se or any mods. When d3d11 is in my game folder,
It crashes.

If I were you, I would:

1. Completely uninstall whichever ENB preset I'm using. (which one is it BTW?)

2. Download ENB v311 from the official site AND download a new copy of the ENB preset

3. Check the mod page for the ENB preset and make sure I'm following all the author's instructions. If he recommends an OLDER version of ENB, download and use that instead of v311

4. re-install a fresh copy of the ENB preset and ENB 311 (or older) that I just downloaded.

5. Edit enblocal.ini thus:

[MEMORY]
ForceVideoMemorySize=true
VideoMemorySizeMb=10240 <---this value will be fine for your rig

Still not working.

I'm running out of ideas here. Did you try verifying your game cache? Maybe deleting just the ini files in /Documents/my games/Fallout4/ and then launching with the default Steam launcher? This will update the game's registry and also create a new set of ini's for you.

just for the helluvit, look in your Fallout 4 game folder and see if you have a file in there called:

DXGI.DLL

If you don't, then maybe you should consider reverting to a vanilla game and starting fresh. It's possible you have a mod conflict so if you want to go the route of uninstalling your mods first and see if your game doesn't crash, by all means do that before you re-install the game. If you DO decide to just kill everything, don't forget to ALSO delete the ini files in

/Documents/My Games/Fallout 4/

Then delete the Fallout 4 game folder so you are sure you've gotten rid of any junk files.

I installed my enb first, before any other mod. As ive stated, it wont run on the vanilla launcher. I've already reset my inis.

Then there's something in your hardware and/or software configuration that the game doesn't like. Maybe a non-supported resolution like 21:9? Maybe more than 60fps? Other than what I've already suggested in my previous posts, I'm out of ideas. Maybe someone else here will jump in.

It worked perfectly with the exact same specs before I formatted my ssd and hdd. My best guess is my install of win 10, because that's the only difference.
Supersledge you were helpful in making my game not crash. I used the ini configuration you used, and my game did not CTD. Thanks Man!
