Anyone know good settlement locations near the middle of the map? (near Diamond City)
Playing Survival mode and my horde nature isn't going away. Getting tired walking all the way to sanctuary. Was wondering if anyone can link info or a picture or location of a settlement near the middle of the map or near diamond city. Doesn't have to be big, just want to be able to build some storage and a bed and what not. thanks!

Hangman's Alley is usually my city hub. It's right around the corner and down the street from the entrance to Diamond City.

Hangman's Alley, it's in, well, and alleyway between Diamond City and the Wreck of the U.S.S. Riptide. You'll have to clear out the raiders living there, but once you do it's actually pretty cozy and defensible if you don't intend on making it a proper settlement with NPCs in it.

So if i was leaving Diamond city would it be left of that street or right?

I appreciate the response. Could you give me some directions there?

Simple. Head toward the U.S.S. Riptide from Diamond City but just before you get to the bridge, turn left and on the left is the entrance to Hangman's Alley.

Thank you on my way.

You'll also be able to acquire Bunker Hill later in the game, so you have mid east side covered.

So when you cross the bridge over the Riptide heading in towards Diamond City, you have two options to get to Hangman's Alley.

First is to take a right and go down the set of stairs until you reach a turn in the road. If you go straight you'll end up in the little housing development with the diner that's usually the site of a war between Scavengers and Raiders, and to the left is a road heading up a slope a bit. Go left on that road until you see a dumpter, and then at that dumpster go left again. Right in front of you should be a Junk Gate with some corpses suspended over it, and you've reached the front gate to Hangman's Alley.

The second way is to go straight when you exit the brige and stop when you come to a peach colored car. To the right of that car should be what looks like an old sitting room with some more corpses on hooks next to a Junk Door. That door will be locked (I don't know what skill level is required to open it), and it leads to a flanking position for Hangman's Alley and might help you get the Raiders by surprise. Or it might not, there might be Raiders outside that door too, I don't remember.
detailed and helpful.

Be careful because the raiders will always respawn inside that settlement.

I was going to recommend Taffington Boathouse. It's very near a trader and a doctor in Covenant. It is on a river so you can produce huge amounts of purified water there, and it's also very near the center of the map.

I always steal the key to Kellog's house in Diamond City, so Hangman's Alley doesn't interest me that much.

You can also buy a house in Diamond City.
