if you upgrade it fully it defend pretty damn well. I gave it ceramic plating to defend from explosives.
it takes copper and aluminum to repair over basic power armor which I think just requires steel.
but I can go a pretty long while before it starts to break.
I used it for a while. eventually you get very large HP wise and don't want to bother with power armor. but its the best.
though the T-60 for the money might be easier to maintain. And good 'enough' (you find T-60 complete sets on dead brotherhood knights)
However, the T-51 armour is probably the most efficient in terms of repairs; it's considerably improved from the T-45, while being only marginally more costly to repair (an extra piece of steel for each part, and one piece of aluminium added for the torso).
it looks cool
it has good defence any kind of damage
and the most important X-01 is enclave's first choice
with hot rod shark paint or instute paint it gets even cooler
if you like paint jobs t51 has all paint jobs and commercial paint jobs
