Low intelligence build/savant
I'm trying out a new build today that focuses on swords/rifle and pretty early on i decided to forgo intelligence(lol) and utilize an alcohol+idiot savant combo, which has been working beautifully. My drunk Miles Matheson is a force to reckon with.

However I love settlement building and crafting, and I'm sorely missing the scrapper perk. Is there anyway to mitigate the loss of materials that I'm losing w/o it? (Namely copper, screws ect.) Any advice?

P.S. I'm planning on salvaging all the desk fans and whatnot in sight.

realistically the answer is use how much extra xp you get to farm levels until you can just pump int straight to 10, because statistically you make the more xp when you have 10 int AND idiot savant rank 2 than you do with int 1 rank 2, at which point you can go back to farming levels to put into scrapper. This was the idea behind my low int melee character, farm radiant minutemen missions until high level, bank all my materials then mess with settlement building way at the end once i've got every stat up to 10 and every perk I want.

to be honest, after awhile I just decided restart, to set my int to 100 using the console and not waste 2 perk points on an xp farming skill. Leveling in fallout 4 is super grindy anyway.

Unfortunately I have all of my perk points planned to level 50, so it isn't simply a matter of relocating points into Int. Im only using salvant at rank 1 to achieve a normal feel of level gain, and use the extra perks I saved to invest in a more rounded build since I don't plan to use anything from Int. (Hence my dilemma with Scrapper)

But thanks for the input, I might have to rethink the build.

Put some points into scrounger. Sell all the extra ammo you don't need and just buy junk from merchents.

That's a good idea, thank you.
