Resetting Perks?
I think I heard a couple of times that there's a drug or something in the game that allows you to reset all your perks (not your stats that you start out with chosing while you're still in the vault - only the perks).

I'd like to do this because this is my first real play-through, I've already spend a lot of time on it and I'm beginning to se that I've made some very big mistakes that are beginning to make gameplay difficult, so I'd like to correct those mistakes.

Is it possible to reset your perks or will I just have to live through it until I catch up by making better choices from now on?

Thanks in advance.

Nevertheless, you do make a good point, so don't get me wrong, I've no intentions of trying to make it seem as if your viewpoint isn't perfectly valid, because I think it is - and in general I do google things rather than asking others for answers by placing posts at various boards.

Thanks for the info and the rinput that you've provided.
Thanks man, just started playing and was wondering if I could and found this.

You couldnt leave this pile of crap topic buried?

Instead of a simple answer "No" and "go level" these guys argued and threw insults.

Not only that the answers were wrong from the start. Whatever you can add with the console commands can be taken away with the console commands.

There is a Mod:

If you don't want to use a mod, you are stuck with the console commands:
http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Fallout_4_console_commands

You can find the Base IDs here:
http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Fallout_4_perks

However the console command will not give back the points. It only allows you to add or remove
What a condescending and unecessary way of answering someone. If you don't like helping the community, you could just spared everybody's time including yours and not replying at all.

What do you know, I'm one of those guys who googles first, and this thread was the first thing that popped up. So he was right and you were absolutely wrong. I hope you've come to grow in these last two years because your dumb allegations are still here for everyone to see.

Googled how to reset perks and got to this thread. Stonetree spent more time being whiny than answering the question.

When I google stuff I usually hope to find a forumthread where a user has asked my exact question, because then I don't have to. In this case, the OP did ask my exact question. Thank you!

Hello from 2020. Googled how to reset perks and found this thread, which was helpful. Wow, Stonetree shoved his foot real far up there, didn't he?

We are not a research department. Everyone must do their own research. This is life. It has nothing to do with the personal aspect. This question has been asked and answer thousands and thousands of times on many sites. The answers are there. If you want an answer to a question, you look for the answer in the likely place. Not repeat a question on a forum and expect others to give it to you. You can also get the personal aspect and perspectives from the thousands of other posts where many people have provided their perspectives. You are just making excuses.

Other "video gamers" dont ask repetitive questions that have been answered many times. Other "video gamers" would have done a simple google search or forum search at first, and found these answers all over the place.

As for formulating the question for google and forum searches. You don't use questions, you use key words in order of importance. You think if a couple main keywords, type them in, and pop at the top is what you are most likely looking for.

I gave you the answer because I was being nice. Forum users on any forum site do not like repetitive questions that have been answered. No need for the excuses.

Take your rtfm nerd rage back to mom's basement. No one enlisted you as the forum police and no one gives a Sh|T what you think. :cozyps2tr:

Anyways, as others so kindly explained already, No, you cannot reset your perks with an in-game item. You either use the command console pressing "~" and manually remove and add your perk levels as you want to using appropriate commands, or use a mod.

I've not used a mod for resetting perks before, so I can't recommend any to use. I've just done things by the command console, which is a pain in the rear depending on how much adjustment you want to make. You can also 'cheat', intentional or not, using the command console that way, adding or removing too many perk points without giving yourself equal amounts.

To be fair, Google has gotten a lot better at answering actual questions, than back in the day. It's still not optimal, but if you're truely at a loss it's very possible to find you answer using google that way, unlike years ago when a question was likely to drum up 0 results.

Yes, this ultra open ended character style is boring to say the least. :DarkKnight:

Yes you can and here it is how (using console of course):

Note that some perks are added in expansions and thus following script has xx and yy denoting the two expansion that added these perks, we need to replace them with correct id which is different based on load order of your expansions (most probably different from your friend's or mine). Note that you will not get your perk points back, but you can use another console command to get some to spend

CGF "Game.AddPerkPoints" 99

1- Copy following script to a txt file and rename it to perks.txt in your fallout folder (where your fallout4.exe is), (console players, sorry, you might have to run one by one)

2- type in following console command to find order of your expansions

help "Strong Back" 0

This will list 6 items for you which 5 of them are starting with PERK. Note the id
matching 0x0423a3 (e.g. 030423a3 or 060423a3), now replace all xx in following script with 0x (e.g. 03 or 06)

2- run following command to find the replacement of yy just like above

help "Steady Aim" 0

And this time note the id matching 0y028a23 and replace yy with 0y

3- When finished modifying the file and saved it, run console command

bat perks

4- Close pipboy and open it again.

There is a Mod:

If you don't want to use a mod, you are stuck with the console commands:

However the console command will not give back the points. It only allows you to add or remove

What a pretentious loser. Do you realise how insufferable you are? This thread is the top link in my google search, donkey. "We aren't your research department" ...my god.
