Resetting Perks?
I think I heard a couple of times that there's a drug or something in the game that allows you to reset all your perks (not your stats that you start out with chosing while you're still in the vault - only the perks).

I'd like to do this because this is my first real play-through, I've already spend a lot of time on it and I'm beginning to se that I've made some very big mistakes that are beginning to make gameplay difficult, so I'd like to correct those mistakes.

Is it possible to reset your perks or will I just have to live through it until I catch up by making better choices from now on?

Thanks in advance.

If you did a simple google search for "fallout 4 reset perks", you would have found 61,000 results. Probably not all about that but still a lot.

There is a Mod:
http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/10816/

If you don't want to use a mod, you are stuck with the console commands:
http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Fallout_4_console_commands

You can find the Base IDs here:
http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Fallout_4_perks

However the console command will not give back the points. It only allows you to add or remove

Yea, no you didn't. Not possible without mods.

It's annoying when you delete one level of a perk, then you manually have to add one to another perk to really make it up.

Well, the game never intended you to reset perks or stats. Mainly because the more you play, the high level you get, the more points you get. You can eventually max out all the perks just by leveling. but.. If you use the proper command, you can jump to any level perk you want.

Yea, that's true. You're not really supposed to cheat levels/perks as it kind of defeats the purpose of playing the game. Using commands is just the easy way.
The reason why i used the console to add/remove a perk point was for the 2nd level of Night Person, because the night vision it adds is so annoying. If level 2 was swapped with 3 i would get it, but since it's not i'm not even going to bother with leveling that any further. I will have all but that perk fully upgraded eventually.
Panda Stonetree Jan 9, 2017 @ 11:48pm
I understand. For the night vision effect. If you crouch you get the night-vision effect, and normally when you stand up the effect still persists and is annoying. But, you can easily correct that by looking at you pipboy, then closing pipboy.

I used the commands only one time. It was to remove the annoying Idiot Savant perk. The annoying sound and popup for that really T'd me off.

Stonetree,

I could have googled the question, but I wouldn't have got the personal aspect of the information and opinions, thoughts, ideas and personal experiences of those who reply to me when I place a post in 'my' gaming community - the gamer community I frequent the most. I like the extra aspect of getting other people's personal perspectives.

So don't get me wrong, pal, it's not that I don't know I can google pretty much anything I want to know or learn about, but there's more than one way to skin a cat, as the saying goes.

And besides, another good result of making a post is that other video gamers who google or Steam search this topic in the future will have the opportunity to read what you guys have sid in response to my question (provided they formulate their question so it fits the crteria, of course - something which isn't always as clean cut and straight forward as we like to think).

Nevertheless, you do make a good point, so don't get me wrong, I've no intentions of trying to make it seem as if your viewpoint isn't perfectly valid, because I think it is - and in general I do google things rather than asking others for answers by placing posts at various boards.

We are not a research department. Everyone must do their own research. This is life. It has nothing to do with the personal aspect. This question has been asked and answer thousands and thousands of times on many sites. The answers are there. If you want an answer to a question, you look for the answer in the likely place. Not repeat a question on a forum and expect others to give it to you. You can also get the personal aspect and perspectives from the thousands of other posts where many people have provided their perspectives. You are just making excuses.

Other "video gamers" dont ask repetitive questions that have been answered many times. Other "video gamers" would have done a simple google search or forum search at first, and found these answers all over the place.

As for formulating the question for google and forum searches. You don't use questions, you use key words in order of importance. You think if a couple main keywords, type them in, and pop at the top is what you are most likely looking for.

I gave you the answer because I was being nice. Forum users on any forum site do not like repetitive questions that have been answered. No need for the excuses.

Bethesda doesn't believe in character roles, archtypes, roleplay, or truely any character development by the player anymore.

They expect you to get to level 80 and become the master of everything possible, despite including skills that contradict each other or otherwise aren't of use to you when you're already developed in other areas.

Anyways, as others so kindly explained already, No, you cannot reset your perks with an in-game item. You either use the command console pressing "~" and manually remove and add your perk levels as you want to using appropriate commands, or use a mod.

I've not used a mod for resetting perks before, so I can't recommend any to use. I've just done things by the command console, which is a pain in the rear depending on how much adjustment you want to make. You can also 'cheat', intentional or not, using the command console that way, adding or removing too many perk points without giving yourself equal amounts.

To be fair, Google has gotten a lot better at answering actual questions, than back in the day. It's still not optimal, but if you're truely at a loss it's very possible to find you answer using google that way, unlike years ago when a question was likely to drum up 0 results.

Yea, I guess so. But still the fact is. I was being nice, to the point, and provided answers. A simple thank-you would have sufficed. The poster decided to make excuses. If he/she truly has used any forum before, he/she would know that the community does not like repetitive questions that have been answered and easily found, especially on multiple sites.

Hey, found this thread by google searching the same question.

The only thing worthless about it was the grandstanding attention grab and whining, by someone with nothing to contribute.

♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ are you such a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. I can't believe the original poster was so polite in responding to you.I started playing FO4 recently because I had no interest in it when it was released given how little new it brings to the series, but got it on sale and as bored and anyway.. I was curious if there's an in game way to reset the stats so I googled and ended up here. Exactly like the original poster suggested. And they were right. And now I'm here to get an answer and to see what an ass you are.

Jesus, for Christ's sake you sure have an ego don't you? I came here to lurk for answers, and what I got was 300% whiny ♥♥♥♥♥. Nobody likes repetitive forum posts with the unhelpful ♥♥♥♥ in it. You just contributed by having to add trashy drama into this. Can't ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ believe the OP was actually polite with you. EITHER ANSWER THE QUESTION AND THEN SHUT UP OR JUST DON'T.

Let's all give a big round of applause for this keyboard hero! All we were looking for when we typed in google - "how to reset perks fallout 4" was to get some simple answers. Instead, this kid/guy gave us all a very valuable life lesson! Thank you so much for your insights my friend.
