Vault 88 Buzzing sound
Hi there is a buzzing souind in vault 88 near security room, if you go from security room towards workshopbench then youll hear it at its hight and geting lowered a bit as you reach the workbench.
Since this is very similar to my alarm clock and it bugs me when ever I pas it I was wondering if anybody know how to turn it of.

It might be the original opening security alarm. Try this:

prid 0200131A enable disable

This should turn the alarms and lights back on. Then turn them off. If that doesn't help, not sure what the buzzing is.

Edit: corrected ID number from 020012DE to 0200131A

Did that command even turn the alarms and lights back on? You would know because all the white lights will turn off, the rotating red/amber lights would come on, and you would start hearing a Buzz..(pause)..Buzz alarm type sound.

The only "Buzzing" sound that I know of in Vault 88 is the Security Lock-down alarm when you first enter the vault, which does sound near the construction workshop. The game is also known to get sound effects stuck on repeat. Normally fast traveling away and back fixes the issue, but this option should also.

The "buzzing" sound could be the body scanners, idk how you could turn them off, perhaps using the console to disable/delete them ... perhaps?

The body scanners in Vault 88 (Vault-Tec) do not work and have never worked. I have even looked at them in the Creation Kit. They are just base objects, no scripting to them. There is a separate object the game uses for those to work.

That is unless you specifically download a Mod from NMM, at which point you know very well what that buzz is from.

Yeah, could be a mod running some extra ambient sound. No mods on my end so I'm not getting a buzz ... Just a thought that the scanners could be producing that buzz if OP had some kind of mod running because his movement through the area seemed likely ... :/

Only way to pin down that "scanner buzz buzz" would be for the OP to goto Vault 81 and walk through their scanner and see if it goes "hummm, buzz, buzz, buzz, buzz, humm" ... Indeed, it sounds like an alarm clock to me as well and if it's the same buzzing, he'll know.

No the commands didnt do anything, and yes I have mods, though I doubt that its a mod thing.
The buzzing sound is not like the big alarm.
Yes its a bizzing sound similar to a real life alarm clock just a bit lower, or similar buzzing sound a fluorescent lamp would make at some point.

Ill go to vault 81 and check out the sound of them scanners.

Ok, well this is confusing me then.

Listen to this, first sound:

Is that the sound you are hearing, just non-stop without the pause?

Please look at this picture.

What letter do you think is making the noise?

Those are the only sound effects in Bethesd'a unmodified release of Vault 88. Other than the environment sound, which if it was that you would hear it everywhere in the vault..

No not that sound its not that loud but there is a lowered bzzz sound not similar to the alarm but its still annoying.
Panda Stonetree 9 ENE 2017 a las 11:49 p. m.
Does it sound like its coming from one of those Letters on the photo? I could try and obtain the ID of the specific sound emitter to disable. But if its none of those, im clueless what the sound is.

its like if you have a 1 tone alarm clock maintaining the same high pitch, and if you dont listen to radio in the game its very annoying buzz each time you pass that place.
In vault 88 when you come in go right and when you reach end of hall way its almost where its laoudest if you then go towards security then the closer to secutity you get the lower the sound gets (not sure where its loudest therefore not sure where it comes from, its the same if you go towards worbench from there, Im pretty sure its also in the vanilla game)
Just go to that area turn radio off, and you can hear it and on normal loudness that buzzing sound is so annoying I really hate going through main entrance, cus you gonna hear it no matter what way you go into rest of custom build bunker.
Panda Stonetree 10 ENE 2017 a las 11:14 a. m.
Sounds like letter E on the photo. Ive been to that area in my game, I dont hear anything at all on my game. Give me a little bit to find the code for that sound emitter and see if we can disable it completely.
