Problem with Vault rooms > Vault 88
i can't seem to get any of the "rooms" to snap to my floor or walls. i wanted to make some floors that had the cafeteria, overseer, and security rooms but they don't snap to anything that i've already built.

everything else in the workshop snaps so i've been using mostly Atrium things but i want to make livkign quarters and such, only they won't work for what ever reason
how can i fix this?

Snapping works type-to-type and door-to-door. To change types, you use a doorway from each type.

The parts from different categories usually only snap "door to door".

For example, you build an Atrium and make some doors in the walls. To build a Cafeteria, you need to connect a Cafeteria door part to the Atrium from the outside. Other Cafeteria parts will then happily snap to the Cafeteria door part.

Thanks. that fixed the building problem... but now i can't get power to them... all of my atrium walls can get power but not these...

That sounds like a misalignment problem. When you built the rooms, did you make the atrium door first, and then snap a room door to that?

Do you know you have power issues because you snapped a vault power connector to a wall and there's no radiant power?

yes, i did.

i always have a wall light next to a conduit to be sure of power..

i found the problem though... every time i get a certain distance away, i have to pick up and place down one of the ultility halls i used in order to get power again, otherwise everything is dead.. so it's poor game design and broken connections not initiated by me..

It sounds like something is not in alignment, unless this is a bug like how spotlights don't remain lit (picking up and placing back down a spotlight re-enables the lighting).

I haven't had the same issues you have had, so maybe I just have a different combo of things connecting. I had the same issue initially reported due to mixing nursery and atriums and whatever just as I was experimenting; later clean up fixed my issues.

getting power from the initial "150" reactor was somewhat challenging for me, but it did turn out to be proper tile alignment in my case that solved my issues.
