Fallout 4 Survival is the only gamemode?
Anyone else feel like its simply a waste of time and effort to play on any other modes? To me it hits my mind like this... There are perks ill never use if I play any other game mode. Yeah I know Fast travel is turned off and its a pain, esp if your running low on ammo pre lv 20. then theres the no saving without a bed, though i found a bug todo by exiting the game a certian way.

Thing is, I feel like im just missing out on the Fallout experience if I play on another mode. Still game could of been a little better, I miss the charater interactions like fallout 3 had but, hey when you push a AAA title out to make bucks you forget a few things right.

It's a waste of time and effort to even be playing tedium mode in the first place, unless you're the type of player that's into that; I'm not, so I just made my own mod to turn off the needs since It's unnecessary and scaled up the difficulty even more.

It's debatable since every person like different things. I love Survival and once you played it even Very Hard seems way to easy. But not everyone likes the same things so... It's a grey area!
Biggest problem in survival is cell reset times. Making several areas barren wasteland and easier game. When no enemies travel patch no fast travel lose its meaning.

Others are no console - so how fix Level 4 traders, Starlight settlement area bug, emogene cabbot bug, stuck in terrain bug,,,

No manual hardsave - many other bug needs to reload certain save, like Queen in Castle, vault 88 sometime needs to fast travel each stage of quest to get it work or LOAD PREVIOUS SAVE...

Survival would be fun but is POORLY implemented. Mildly dehydrated is -4 int and -3 Per? What? I slept for 12 hours in a bed and 4 hours later game time i was tired already. Parched? I drank 4 clean waters..still thirsty. Hungry? I ate 4 radroach (the cooked version) and 2 crispy squirrl bits and still hungry. That is enough food in real life for days. Love the reduced carry weight and that everything has a weight but will have to look for a mod that is more realistic.

your suffering from infections then or in the water case used massive amounts of stimpacks. from thirst to properity hidrated is only 2 clean waters, and hungry to property fed is only 2 rad roaches or 1 braimin steak. You shouldn't be getting tired that quick either. Not saying your lying, just that either your doing something to cause it, or you charater is infected. 2 squirels isnt enough food for 1 day in real life tobe honest your looking at only taking in about 600 caleroris at most from 2 squirels with no fat content in them.

It isn't really a 'mode' it is a difficulty level. The game doesn't change fundamentally by changing the difficulty.

I don't do Survival, prefer the other difficulty levs.

actually it does change game fundamentals. Legendary enemys spawn at 3x the rate. You gain access to a new abilitys. And are affected by many different factors not normally in the other so called difficultys. Fast travel is disabled, saveing any where disabled. Ammo weight, carry weight reduced + more I honestly dont believe survival is a difficulty setting because it changes the entire way you play the game. If you mean changing the story, well printing a book in a magizene doesnt make the mag a book. Difficulty increases wouldnt add exstra effects in any other game which is why i consider it a mode. Just thought i'd explain why.

Survival mode does sound interesting, but I am way behind on games to complete though, so maybe next time.

well good thing is, once u buy the game you always have it. Survival mode makes you always think ahead and plan. If you get surprised you die. Power Armor or not your screwed. One of the best beifits to me of it is all the different perks i wouldnt take in the normal difficulitys. I'm telling you right now lead belly is will probally save you 100k in bottlecaps. And bc everything hits even harder your twitch reflexes become far better. I suggest getting a sniper rifle early and horde all 308 ammo you can if you ever get around to trying it. Even at close range it has enough stopping power to save your life against supermutants. If you can make snap headshots that is.

Answer: no.

If there are perks you'll never use on other game modes, then don't pick those perks. I mean, seriously.

True, on my first survival run I took a lot of Endurance but in the end it's not worth it. Since enemies will just blast through your health no matter how high it is. 2nd run I used a high Agility and Perception character and he was much more stable and durable since i took out enemies from afar with a Sniper rifle and when they did get up close with melee weapons a good shotgun is all you need. (The fact that Non-auto rifles and Shotguns are both afected by Rifleman is great since you can use 2 distinct weapons and only need to level up one perk saving points for survival stuff) Survival will make you use Perks you would otherwise never choose and think outside the box when combining them.

one of the most vauable perks i've found wasnt a combat perk but sneak level 3 as you no longer set off tripwires or mines while sneaking. Which are insta death. I distintly remember this one stair case i took before i had it just outside dimaond city. Dam trip wire drops not 1 but two grenades down the stair case. with a delayed effect on the drop. I was disarming some hanging cans never even saw the wire.

I do but i kinda regret that i played my first playthrough on survival, it was pain in the ass at the start and no fast travel, also i would enjoy my second playthrough on survival more, now it's just the same. But yeah, makes no sense lowering the difficulty now that i have over 150 hrs in survival and it's easy, i don't want it even easier, it's the only option.

No. Because many mods I use depend on mechanics the survival difficult setting screws over.
Mods > Survival.
