[SOLVED] Cannot get past launcher.
I have always modded my game, gonna get that outta the way now. Yes, I have attempted disabling all of my mods, and in fact just tried running it after disabling my mods and re-installing it. Yes, I have restarted my PC. Yes, I have verified my cache.

Okay.

So, basically when I press play on Steam, it opens the launcher as normal, great. I press play in the launcher, it opens up Fallout as a black screen. The screen will flash once like it's trying to load the game up, and then stay black before a few seconds before closing the application entirely. This occurs every time, consistently. When I attempt to check my load order in LOOT to see if any of my mods are causing errors, it shows no errors at first, and my load order is just the .esm files for the game and all of its DLC, as I own the game itself and all of its DLC. Upon trying to sort the load order (I did this because I was just testing stuff and messing around to try and see if anything whatsoever could fix this or reveal information to help me fix this) I get the error:
"Error code: 0; Failed to update the masterlist. Details: Masterlist revision 242a07e: yaml-cpp: error at line 11, column 9: bad conversion: 'str' key missing from 'message content' object. The latest masterlist revision contains a syntax error, LOOT is using the most recent valid revision instead. Syntax errors are usually minor and fixed within hours."

I do not know what to do with this error.

I have checked my fallout 4 game files, as I write this, just now. I cannot remember what the files look like normally without mods, so I'm just gonna post some pictures here of my local files, hopefully somebody can tell me what I might be missing from my files or might need to remove?

First: uninstall/deactivate your mods (I use nexus mod manager works for this, works just fine).
Then: Uninstall your game. You can either delete everything left over manually and reinstall or just install the game again into another directory. Then (if you use nexus) re-scan your hdd for the new fallout installation folder. Re-activate the mods. Done.

It definitely sounds as if some old messed up mod files are being loaded without you knowing.

Just to second the above poster - a lot of mods leave leftovers so unless you go in and manually delete the fallout 4 folder in c: after you uninstall the game it could be reinstalling the game into the same fodler and leaving the bits of leftovers from mods.
Also might want to delete the ini's in the documents folder - let the game make new ones.

Concerning LOOT, that masterlist error has nothing to do with you and can't be corrected until the developers of LOOT update it.

I had deleted my fallout 4 folders when I originally uninstalled the game because I was bored of it. I had re-installed it because I found some new mods I wanted to try and had these issues. No, I did not install the new mods before I had launched the game successfully at least once.

OMG it is like a Unicorn, someone with an Issue actually posted real specs.

Unfortunately I can not help with this error.

Would checking the "windows event viewer" help with this? I do not know.

Left click or tap the start button.
Left click on Control Panel in the start menu.
Left click on System and Security.
Left click on Administrative Tools in the System and Security window.
Now you will need to be signed in as administrator and double click (left click) on “Event Viewer”
After opening Event Viewer you will have there a list of events that you can access.

Might glean some new information?
Trying not to muddy the waters with useless info, but trying to provide somekind of new information that would send you in the correct direction.

Umm found this, PDF for LOOT,

might help, was trying to read through the error section, thought I would share 1st

Try this: After you press "Play," do not allow any input signals from your devices until the game loads. I am in the habit of putting keyboard, mouse, and game controller on the desk and only pressing the mouse button to hit play. Sometimes it takes 10 or so seconds but for me it works about 90% of the time. Let me know how it turns out!

Simon, I have tried your suggestion and it has failed twice. Thank you for suggesting it, but this does not work for me, sadly.

Darn! I see your OS Install Date is not correct and it does not look like a typo. Could there be a clock issue?

Install date always shows around that date, mines "OS Install Date: Jan 01 1970".

Check your own to see.

I'd start with a fresh install. Not just clean. Scrub directories for loose files. Then, change "content location", d/l to get FO4 waaay away from my potential modding mess.

DDU and blow the video driver away, graphic control panel etc. Fresh install of driver and control panel. That is just me cause I got nothing else.

Clear Steam download cache before downloading at: https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=3134-TIAL-4638

I tried to load it up once again and it suddenly started working. I don't know why, but it's a miracle.

iPresentInterval=0 found in Documents\My Games\Fallout 4 ... Fallout4pref.ini. The value was set to 1... change to 0
