Best way to use the Double barrel shotgun?

I really like it and I try to get as much range and accuracy as possible but it really only works when shooting someone in the face.

Any way I can improve it more?

They removed that one because beth fixed the issue with weapons not despawning with corspes in an official patch.

They've actually spoken about this. They've got a particular amount of trepidation about "Fixing" anything that might potentially change the release-design of the game. It's why they never seem to do any kind of balance adjustments post launch unless it's really bad. Skyrim had the most of any game I think?

Todd Howard calls it the "Special Edition Trap" referencing Lucas's Star Wars re-releases. Trouble is, he's so afraid of creating Return of the Jedi Special Edition, that he won't even try to make Empire Strikes Back.

Though I most likely wont be touching fallout 4 again until some more official or unofficial patches get released for the dlc's.

So the game is pretty much broken with those and you can one shot everything? Did I mention I could can make at least 6 hits in VATS with a full action bar? Not that it matters much when everything dies in first hit, but I guess you might be facing 6 enemies.

IIRC the yao guai roast multiplies damage by 5 rather that do what its meant to.

That explains it then. Strange they have not fixed this. Pretty much counts as an exploit as it is now I would say.

Can't 1 shot a lot of things with 473 damage, the only thing you can is lower level enemies, with Throatslitter at least.

473 for Throatslitter doesn't seem too crazy. It would depend on your strength. That Knife has INSANE base damage for a Fast rated weapon, almost 100 with the Cutlass. With full Big Leagues perk, you're already at 200.

I think above 10 strength, max Big Leagues, some other non 'buyable' perks and so on. It's also fully upgraded. It's not fancy, but it sure does work, i'll give it that.

The only way I can think of to get a double barrel (sawed off) shotgun to work any better is to use SLUGS instead of buckshot.
Since those aren't available (afaik) ..
the only other two options is shooting yourself in the foot or shooting yourself in the face.

Slugs were so OP in New Vegas combined with Shotgun Surgeon. Who needs Sniper Rifles?

However, because Fallout 4 has very pronounced Range decay, I suppose a slug option wouldn't be too bad in this case.
