No problem. Just make sure you encounter the legendary radroaches in those places.
Allright, i'll give them a try tomorrow. I hope I can get a .44 there because so far I haven't got a single .44 to drop at the National guard. Managed to get a two shot radium rifle though :)

I have found that 2 shot institute guns with the scattershot mod works really well up close...

Incidentally, I have found a few legendary .44s -- irradiating and whatever one sets the target on fire, and a plasma one I think.

All are somewhat underwhelming; if a dual shot variety was availble that would be pretty awesome I think.

One of the best weapons I have found is an enraging 10mm handgun; it enrages upon critical hit.

With the mods and a few perks, it lets me hit from a long distance, and if I use a banked critical (or fire off enough shots--the AP cost is low enough to do so) I often will manage to cause the enrage effect to happen.

Then whatever it is will turn on their enemies--and them to attack him. I use this to great effect on supermutant warlords and legendary enemies. It doesn't seem to affect robots, though!

Ah lol, quite an interesting way to deal with enemies there :P I never really use vats personally so I mostly just use legendaries with the bleeding / irradiated / explosive / two shot preset. The .44 preset I really want is either the explosive or the two shot but I expect the explosive preset to be quite ♥♥♥♥♥♥.

Glowing Sea Safari. If you're not above Save-Scumming, Hard-save somewhere around Scrap Palace, then enter the Glowing sea, kill everything (Should easily be 20+ Legendaries if everything is alive) and reload until you get what you want.

I think Save-Scumming loot is kind of a ♥♥♥♥ move that is akin to cheating/using Console commands to just give you the item you want, but your gaming ethics are your business. (I won't even keep Legendary items I gain if I have to replay an area after a crash)

I've found that part of the entertainment value I get out of the game is the unconventional approach; not all the perks suit me, but I can always play something else for more fast paced running and gunning.

There is a joy in unleashing the firepower from a flying suit of power armor, though.

Everyone has their own way to enjoy the game. I personally enjoy farming for weapons and gear because I collect legendaries and like to display them in my settlements :)

If you have the .44 and the legendary mod on another weapon you can use the mod Legendary Modification by teaLz

Yes I am aware of this as I already have the gainer. What I meant was farming locations to get a .44 with like a two shot preset.

I would like to keep away from using weapon / modification mods as much as possible because (as weird as it may sound for someone who asks for farming locations) this ruins the fun for me.

True that this mod might take away some of the fun if you like to farm legendary.
I like the mod on normal settings becus it saves me some time while i am farming
There's a mod that adds legendary items to boss loot trunks...

...which really makes up for it when you get a sentinel's switchblade or something stupidly useless.

It's random.

hmm... yes, but not "strictly" random.

Legendary items that you can potentially find are affected by your level.

For example, if you farm legendaries at level 5 (first level legendaries show), you will mostly get weak melee weapons, pipe guns, weak armor pieces...

No way you get a legendary Gauss Rifle, a legendary MiniGun or a legendary strong armor piece at level 5 or at low levels.

In the same way, if you are at level +100, you are not getting all the worst legendary stuff anymore.

For .44 legendary guns must be a frame of levels where they show. (maybe lvl 20-50?)

This is a factor to considerate when farming for an specific item.

So OP or for those who farm for something specific should take this in consideration.

My current character is level 35 so I should be fine for the .44 to drop.
