Sorry again for being silly, but I went over his log and it just dawned on me this time around that he is working for a Raider group that wishes to drain the quarry so he and his pals can raid caravans and supply carts that happen to wander into the range of the place.

My question is this: has anyone killed him before draining the swamp... oops, I mean the pit, and going through all the hassle of killing all the Mirelurks, and then killing all the Raiders later when they re-occupy wall-street, I mean, the place?

...also, will I earn extra XP for my Idiot Savant perk bonus, after all, it does seem stupid to waste all the extra ammo, and gear the group leaves behind, but the hassle.

As I remember, this is the perfect place to try out an artillery barrage, or a nuclear strike from a certain Chinese sub in the bay. It's also best to have some kind of breathe-under-water perk, however, if you know exactly where the leaks are it's a snap, still, I am going to kill the guy and see. ...just wondering if anyone else is as touched as I am :) Bye for awhile. I promise to go away for at least a day.

Regarding finding Sully's body: When I helped him drain the place the first time around, I was called to defend the place from Raiders who had taken over the place with Sully as one of the Raiders that I had to shoot. He was shooting at me. This is a pre-emptive strike and I eill never drain the pit because I know what's down there, and the family of Mirelurks were thre first. They deserve a place to live in peace. I'll let them be unless the start some trouble.

When you power up and unclog the system, either he tried to make a deal with the raiders, or they saw opportunity and decided to take everything for themselves.

Are you sure he was dead?
When i came back after the raiders took over, sully mathis was at the bottom wearing a set of raider armor and he was hostile to us.

I killed him directly after helping him start the pump bc I wanted his hat. Will it still drain and will there still be raiders? (Ps: sry im late to the game)

LOL! Hi. Please give us a video of your adventure in the pit. I love the place. Gotta set the mirelurks free :) I forgot about his hat. I'm a long long way from this place as I have started from the beginning.
