Pre-war clothes generally look a bit nicer (mostly clean suits and laundered dresses), but I usually end up wearing whatever fits underneath armour.
Instead of complaining about outfits being ugly (to you), you should instead be asking why there are so few variations of clothing in the world. Not everyone would be wearing the same checkered shirt and jeans you know. It wouldnt have hurt bethesda to add a couple dozen different shirts to go with a couple dozen different pants. The artists are typically the first to be done with thier jobs, thats why most dlc tends to be outfits in other games, it gives the art team something to do with all their free time.
I'd like if they'd include even some basic colour variation, though. There really shouldn't need to be entirely separate items just to produce different colours of exactly the same suit.
I suppose that's what I should have written instead of ugly, the lack of variations in colours and textures is what's really annoying, because in the end everyone just ends up looking the same. Apocolypse or not, it's rather boring.
Ikr? looking toats fab in the post-apocalypse is the most importin thing dahling! Seriously though, that makes sense and is certainly more my problem, outside of using mods (I have bad experiences with mods so I don't use them (woe-is-me D: )) that what bothers me about Fo4 and Skyrim (maybe not so much Skyrim but it is a similar issue) is the lack of variation in colours and textures. I really wish we'd get a clothing DLC but I don't see it happening. :-/
