Fallout 4 - Resolution 3440 x 1440
Hello,

I would like to play with a 3440x1440 resolution (21:9 monitor).
Unfortunatley in the game setup I can only choose a maximum resolution from 2xxx, not more.
The newest High Resolution pack is allready installed. Something wrong? It is not possible with the resolution?

Thank you in advance!

The game did not release with 21:9 support. Not sure but, I think there is a nexus mod that adds support for that.
As said above, not possible without mods.

Mod solution:
UWPU - http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/16666/? (don't mind the warning; I've tested with DSR and it's mostly fine)
DEF_UI - http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/10654/? (optional, load after UWPU, fixes some remaining annoyances)

actually you could just update an .ini file and fallout 4 will play at that resoulution. What's even better? Fallout 4's engine is horz+, so your fov will increase too.
edit: google "how to play fallout 4 on triple screens". I know it's not the same problem; however, the same method routes you to the solution.

Ok, have found after your hint this youtube movie https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SLGFzo0jg5g. Do not look difficult. Let's see what happens :).

Test after the modification was succesfull (2h playtime). Intel Xeon E3 -1231 and a Geforce 1070 with high graphic settings = most time 60 fps. But only after 2h (until concord City).

Thanks again for your support.

So the method above does work but when I load the game I cannot see my mouse on the screen so I am unable to start a game. Anyone know how to fix this? Thanks.

Thread is very old, has obsolete information. UWPU has been superseded by TruBy9 ultrawide, UWPU isn't useful if you're on a 3440x1440 display, only on a more modest 2560x1080. In fact, author took the mod off for months because people kept pestering him on making a 1440 version and it got to him. TruBy9 works on high-resolution ultrawides like yours, UWPU is still fine on my 29UM67-P but i'm dumping it for TruBy9 on my next install.

Thanks for the response. I think it's really bad that a AAA games developer does not provide support for these monitors considering that most of the Indie games I've been playing recently can support it (They are Billions for one).

With GeForce Experience it's solved. Better than launcher. (A lot better)

After editing the ini file, the game force closes when clicking on Play. I'm also trying to run in 3440x1440. Hardware is more than enough, I have a 4090 and i9.

EDIT: I've gotten it to start by using GeForce Experience and disabling my 2nd monitor, but the game runs in the 40's which is pretty unacceptable for my level of hardware. Any ideas?

Yes, you probably have a 144 Hz display which is getting iPresentInterval = 2 to reduce the framerate to 48 fps. Set your display refresh rate to 60 Hz. Or you can use "high fps" mods at some risk, since the game was designed to run at or near 60.
