All DLC = 33 settlements, all supply linked.
Just curious, has anyone bothered doing all the dlc, and decided to kill the nuka world raiders rather then become overboss, combined the total 28 settlements from a main quest win, combined with the automatron den settlement, the 3 settlments in far harbor and the one in nuka world, all perfectly supply linked up like a full (oddly shaped) circle?

Possibly with 10 charisma and 20-25 settlers at each settlment, and properly resourced and built defences. with one of each type of rank 3 trader store at each location?

Just curious on your daily caps in the workbench, is it shared or do you have to go to each locations workbench to keep collecting?

I just figured i'd ask rather then doing this myself. If i have to sate my curiosity, i'm going to create a new character, strictly stick to the minutemen, start with 1 str, per, end, int, agi. and go full charisma and luck for idiot savant exp, and just focus on economy, buliding settlements up, going to new locations to get settlements, fighting any enemies in a purely vats mysterious stranger and wasteland whipserer intimidate style build, focusing lving into charisma and luck only till about level 75 then save 20 levels and invest in int, str and science to build everything else and have a backup melee role.

This is alot of work, i'd just prefer to be told how having a nation of minutemen stands out.

I don't think you can connect the base game settlements with any in FH or NW, but i haven't tried it.
For the caps; i'm pretty sure you have to (manually) go to each one of them and collect them every couple of days or so.

There is a 'best way' to setting up settlements, but i'm not 100% on what it is. Somebody could probably find you a picture ff they knew what/where it was/is.
You can connect all settlements, base game and DLC. But you have still collect cpas in manually in each workhsop. In building mode they still share material and caps. So caps in Commonwealth settlements counts toward building shop in Far Harbor.

I don't have literally all the settlements linked, but I'm not far away from it.

I have them like that rather than in a circle because I wanted friendly patrols going to the most dangerous parts of the map. I use robot provisioners.

I have mutfruit, corn, and tatos growing at each, along with 5 salvaging stations. I'm never low on adhesive, and unless I'm building lots of high cost mods or buildings, I always just sort of have whatever I need.

Takes awhile, but I'd say it's worth it, especially on survival mode. You're never *that* far away from food, water, and a bed if you need it.

This video shows how to make a "mathmatically perfect" settlement, but it's like, 17 minutes long.

I'm pretty sure there's 4 settlements in Far Harbor. Like the other posters said You can connect them all.

thats a pretty good setup i guess, having spectacle island as your main base and then you just had each settlement send one settler each as the supply back to spectacle, thats actually better then i was gonna use, and you got nothing but the food used to make adhesive too.

Actually i just thought of something, i totally forgot about this.

Turns out supply lines share resources and caps, but only as a build requirement. You would have to usually travel to every workshop to gather caps but i just now remembered a trick.

If you just stash your caps in a temp container at your main base, for safe keeping, then attempt to build a trader it will tell you how much caps are in the shared supply line, then all you gotta do is basically build a trader stall, and then scrap it, getting the actual caps back in your own pocket, and keep building traders until "supply caps" are spent, i would suggest just building till it says your out of caps and scrap them all, it's easier then having to fast travel to every single outpost atleast, glad i remembered that.
