Battery charger for laptop disconnects while playing
Here's something new. Sometimes when I play Fallout 4, my charger disconnects, eventhough it's plugged in. I have to replug it. This only happens when playing the game.

My laptop is a Lenovo G505s with WIndows 10. Yes, it lags as ♥♥♥♥, but that's beside the point.
Have you experienced the same?

Try to sit still and don't jiggle the cables while playing? Just a thought...

No, not really...

What could the game possibly have to do with your laptop's charger? Nothing.

Maybe your laptop draws too much power and the charger thinks it's a short circuit, ergo it turns itself off, but that's hardly related to Fallout 4 and you should be seeing it with any demanding game. Try asking Lenovo?

Remove the battery from the laptop and run it just on the charger. If it shuts down when you play the game, your charger is either too weak or on the way out.

If the game runs fine when you're JUST on the charger, you have a faulty battery.

It's got something to do with the charger. The power switches over to my battery after a while and the battery works as it should. Still, this only happens while playing Fallout 4.

The procedure I gave you will determine if the charger or the battery is faulty. You can't isolate the trouble if you don't follow that procedure. Your answer is a little vague because you didn't say you actually followed the procedure BUT if you did and the charger failed, you need to replace it. Fallout 4 is a demanding game on ANY system and it appears that your charger is just too weak to handle it. The ball is in your court now.

Is it the original laptop charger or a replacement.
Some replacements don't supply enough amperage, so when you run your laptop to it's limit it will have to switch to running on battery. if it's the original then it should be sufficient (unless you upgraded your laptop) and is therefore failing.
Either way the solution is get a better charger. Or run it on battery and stop every hour to recharge the laptop.

It's a replacement. The original simply died one day. It have begun failing on older games, like New Vegas, so it's a clear sign it's dying. I agree that getting a new adapter is the best option here. I'll be back with a status update wether it will work, but I'm optimistic.

Your best bet is to do a Google search on the problem. Could be battery-related . From experience, it's rare to be the only person having a particular problem with a mass-produced machine.

The exception was that my laptop is designed to use an additional battery. I have not found one, or even instructions on how or where to install it, even on the manufacturer's website or any of the PC magazine spec pages.

Look in your power plan settings for advanced options. See if the charger is listed with options like allowing it to be disconnected.

FWIW, I found an adaptor for another way older laptop in a thrift store for a couple of bucks.

I later also found a universal charger with multiple adaptors for under $15.
