Is it possible to clear the Museum of Freedom?

I've been bored of doing all the quests for awhile, and am just wandering around the map clearing out all the locations I've been to. Most of the places have a (Cleared) under the name of the location. Not exactly sure what qualifies a "cleared" status because some locations, like the museum don't show it.

You probably missed a Raider/Gunner outside somewhere. If far enough from your position they won't attack you.

The "Cleared" status means that you got all hostiles once. Most but not all clearable locations will eventually respawn the hostiles that were there the first time you cleared it. So, just because it says cleared does not mean you won't have a fight on your hands once you return there later in your playthrough. And, as your level increases and you get above level 60 or so, those locations spawn higher level hostiles and more of them than you found the first time.

Cleared means you killed the main boss of the location, thats when the status shows on the map (even if other enemys are left behind)

And if the cleared status is removed from the location that means the enemys have repawned, its very useful if ya want to go back and clear it again

ahhh yes, I can see where the extra target practice/free stuff to trade or sell or mod (when I ever get the gunnut perk). Thanks very much for that info.

Anyone please help. I'm currently wasting my time around the Irish Pride Industries Shipyard, trying to get a (CLEARED) to appear under the location on the map. I've cleared most of the top half of the map, but can't get the cabins to show, or the diner. But I'm sure there is something I'm overlooking at the Irish Pride.

Has anyone cleared this location, and is it showing cleared on your map, and can you post a picture for inspiration please?

Does it matter to you that you see a "(Cleared)" everywhere? Why does it matter? How does it make you feel? Do you need someone to talk to?

lol!!! Yes, it matters. I'm completely bored of all the quests, and I like things the way they are with all the factions still around. After that mission to recover some synths, at the Battle of Bunker Hill, I decided I didn't want to progress the war any further. I'm happy with the Institute staying where they are, they're not really bothereing anyone. The Brotherhood is fine, they are happy just roaming around and flying around in their vertybirds, shooting at endless targets and patrolling areas that I've already covered, but I'm okay with that, sometimes I join in. The Railroad is fine trying to free toasters and microwave ovens, and I even like Mirelurks now.

This only leaves one option for me in this game now, clearing out all the buildings on the map, and, if you haven't done it, it is very satisfying to see that in print as proof. It has fueled another obsession, gathering all the caps I can. I have the need to see the count at a million.

I was just hoping that someone out there knows what I'm going through, especially at this Irish Pride Shipyard. The whole place is clear, but when I approach a certain area, the music gets all dramatic and clues me into the fact that there is ...something still here. I just can't move on until I find it. I'll be here until I do. So if someone can help me, I would be in your debt eternally.

Hasn't happened yet. When it does I'll work faster. It's been 3 days since I cleared everything in Zone 1 and 2 with the exceptions of the cabins and the farms. Anyway, I'm already getting bored of doing it. Only thing left is to start looking for another game that is close to this one in graphics, openworldness, lots of shooting, and fun.

Download the "No respawn" mod to stop enemies from respawning to cleared areas.

And not all locations respawn, e,g, Park Street Station doesn't.
Clear the shipyard when you explored it all there's some lurkies down below below.

Thanks for the info. I have found it to be much easier on my OCD to just forget about trying to get everything cleared.
