Nuka World: Star Cores (SPOILERS)
It seems I can't get the very last one of the 35 cores, all required to get the most of the Galactic area, without having restored power first. Is that possible to win the quest with only 25 cores (I already have 34), choose a last faction for that Galactic area, get the power back on, and return with the full cores collection to get the armor?
My concern being I tried to give only 25 cores to be able to choose a faction, but that turned off in the journal anything regarding the rest of the cores and eventually thebaccess to the armor. Bing. Quest closed.
Or, if you come back once the power is on again, with all the cores, even if there nothing active in the journal, the computer will see it and give you the armor...

+

Maybe I don't need all the 5 areas given to a gang before turning the power back on? But the journal seems to need the 5 done, as I see nothing yet about the Power fix in it...

(Just trying to avoid as much as possible reading dangerous walkthroughs here, even if it's already a bit late...)

Maybe I see a way through here. The stelar system seems to see how many total cores are in my possession or still around. It actually sees there is only one left, the one I'd be able to get once the Power's back on. I hope it's gonna be as smart as it is now, once I get all of them. Otherwise I don't see any other way to get that blue armor...

You must have 35 Star cores to get the PA. You can go to the Powerplant anytime and restore power to get the elevator to work in the Galactic Zone control center.

Also, the Star core that was at the auto wreakage yard respawns, so you could just grab another one there.

The problem there is nothing active in my journal leading to that, supposed to be unknown to me so far, Power Plant, even if I could just go there I suppose.
From what I've been reading, each section of the park must be cleared before being given the Power plant quest.

The powerplant is in the Northwest area of the map up on a hill. It's the small chunk of the map that sticks out farther to the West than the rest of the area.
I know but I'm not supposed to know of it, neither its location. No quest sends me there. All I heard being the gangs already working on fixing it. I went there but it feels like a cheat...
Thanks for giving me the direction thou... even if I shouldn't be there. ;-)

Okay, I had to read further about it, and the Power Plant quest is given earlier if you take the "good" choice, or once you got 3 settlements on the "bad" path. Which makes sense...
And I know now the stelar system is still waiting for me to exchange the armor against 35 cores.
Sorry, it had to be clear in my head. I should have trust the writers...

You really don't have to turn on the power to get the last core. There's one at the NW Junkyard that respawns every few days. If you're missing any but don't want to make your "good/bad" choice yet, just do other things and visit the Junkyard every week or so until you have the cores you need.

In my own game, I had the PA and had completed all the side quests until all that was left was to make my good or bad choice.

You know, I'm getting quite fond of the Nuka World story, and I'm trying to avoid as much as possible everything already written about it to have my own personal judgement, and only rely on "knowledgeable players" such as yourself to share the only little tiny piece of info I need instead of a huge Wiki page which always ends up in a huge devastating spoiler. To be able to tell in the end this Nuka Wolrd is quite well written and surprisingly entertaining. I like your true human brain for instance better than a numeric bible which tells everything including what you shouldn't know. And using game flaws could take me away from the storyline which is the main reason for me to like that game. Nevertheless, you know how much I appreciate forumer's personal help, and I thank you, you and all, for that.
I'm currently reverting to an older save before heading for a Power Plant I'm not supposed to know about at the time I decided to go there. I might play Nuka only once, and I feel I owe it that. Even being on the evil path... which begins very late in the game actually, and even not mandatory, for those who complain about Nuka being inevitably evil.
An evil I'm quite interested playing, to see how good I really am.
Sorry for the babbling, I wrote as I think, and twice faster in french. You're lucky...

"You can go to the Powerplant anytime and restore power" Anytime after you've either finished kill all the raiders, or completing the main NW storyline. Going there before hand yields nothing, as the door is locked, and there is no key.

Well then, my copy has a bug in it. I explored the entire edge[s] of the map before ever talking to Mackenzie. Did not go far enough with Guage to get the quest to restore power to the park and was able to pick the lock to the lower/southern entrance door. Had some trouble with two terminal locked doors inside not opening after hacked. Loaded last save and the doors opened the second time I hacked them. Got the power on and went straight to Red Rocket. Then I went back to the park, talked to Mackenzie, killed the Raiders and just did the park side quests.

Odd. The power room is normally locked (unless you use cheats, obviously which may not work as it is fairly scripted;). But there could be a save/load glitch where the doors are unlocked/opened; but i haven't heard of any.

The door to the power is also on the roof without a terminal anywhere close, so it could have been another door/terminal/room/etc. instead.

Nope didn't use the console to get in. There are terminal controled doors inside before you get to the roof. At least going in through the lower door has those doors before getting to the power switch.

Edit; Now that I think about it, it does seem that one or two doors inside were open and they should not have been.

Edit 2; LOL, having nothing to do with NW, there was a terminal locked door somewhere in the game and I walked right through it. It had no collision. That was soon after the game released.

Oh, and I also did NW before it got that early patch after release. Might be why I was able to get into the powerplant?

That's a very interseting clue, like if the writers really wanted the player having chosen a path, either good or evil, before being able to access and turn on the Power Plant. I'm on the roof, where I shouldn't be according to no related quest in the journal, but I'd check about that... before going back to a legit savegame.

Okay. I need a key at the very last room on the roof, a key I should only get by taking the evil (or maybe good) path a bit further.
