Bottlecap mines
Are them a limited resource? I consider them really cool and powerfull, but since I saw that you need 1 Vaul-Tec lunchbags to make 1 of them I´m considering not using them cause I have only found 2 Vaul-Tec lunchbags and dont think they are very common... :(

The lunch boxes aren't the most common, but you still can find them in certain places (i.e. schools). If you're using mines a lot then go with fragmentation mines. These pop up in many places and exist in abundance.

My sole survivor is currently level 84 and has found 56 bottlecap mines, 92 lunch boxes (not yet turned into bottlecap mines), 42 plasma mines, 6 nuke mines and >300 fragmentation mines.

if you have the contraptions dlc you can massproduce lunchboxes with steel
also work as a weightless form of currency to turn you 100000k of steel into that you will have at around level 30
Some trader also sell them, in the misc tab if i remember correctly.

Nice information, I´m still 19 so the difference is abissal but thanks. Yes I use frag mines but bottlecap ones are cooler :P

The lunchboxes and mines you find do respawn too.

For as often as you actuallyare inclined to use a mine in FO4 instead of direct Assult of some kind, the resources are common enough. In all my FO4 experience, over all the main line games, I only ever carried 2 Grenades and 2 Mines. Rarely if ever did I feel like I was under equipped..

If you are using them enough for that to be a concern, use lesser mines and get a minor stock pile at home built up then switch over, and build them every time you get the parts together. Lunchboxes are fairly common at the right locations. Always buy them when you see them in the vendors.

Mines do not respawn that I've ever noticed.

I've noticed a few bottlecap mines that do respawn, like the ones in and around the ruined building just north of the Greater Mass Blood Clinic, but it's a much longer respawn time.

There are something like 160 lunchboxes in the game, junk vendors sometimes sell 1-2.
(I made a post with a list of them all right before contraptions came out, can maybe search for it, a reply to some bottlecap mine thread).

With contraptions you can make lunchboxes out of 3 steel, so they become super easy to make.

Also there are a few places where you can loot bottlecap mines, (somewhere in boston there are 2 by a desk in a ruined building, also I remember one armed one near the racetrack, these will respawn)
