Command for "Mine" vs NPC
I have keycard doors and yet when I open my game freaking NPC's are in my house everytime.
Getting old. I have a tendency to drop all my loot and manually scrap....old habit. When these ppl are insided they kick crap around and I have to forceably move them so I don't have to go in and out of Workshop mode.
Please, would someone tell me what the command is for 'mine' or non-npc on the door, and the bed too I guess.
(Apparently keycards don't mean crap if you save and then come back.)
Thanks

Place your home above them. Create a stairway for you and take it away when you leave. If you build a bar NPCs will go there and stay out of your home. Try building Crafting tables away from your home. For whatever reason NPC like to craft after a days work.

There isn't one.

Though you can keep settlers from sleeping in your bed by assigning them to their own beds.

Similar to what Torqueblue said but if you don't want to mess with rtair removal, built any sort of entrance that doesn't path well. Like something with a small gap you have to hop over to get past it. Settlers will path up and then fall if they try to get in.

You can also try building a home with a powered door with a switch and then turn it off when you leave. I haven't tried that yet but it requires the Workshop DLC

On a PC, open the command prompt and click the item ( bed ) to show the correct id #, then type setownership and hit enter.

Thank You! 7 correct?

Something to keep in mind for your settlement designs is that the game skips proper pathing if there's an excuse to do so (like you sleeping, or not being there), and simply puts settlers wherever it thinks they should be afterwards.

That's why it generally doesn't matter if you try to seal off an area with locked doors or walls.

Idk about adding the 7 but I did see that in another post. Going to investegate that but I have never added to the setownership command.

No matter what you do, settlers will still spawn randomly within the settlement as you enter the cell, including any places normally not within their reach, such as rooms placed several floors above without stairs.

Yes, setownership 7, it was probably one of my posts.

Setownership command can be used to assign ownership of any item to an NPC, but you need to use their base ID instead of their ref ID.

Base ID of player is 7, ref ID of player is 14, for Piper base id is 2f15, ref id 2f1f. I don't know the rest, exactly, but you can find by looking up the character in the wiki or type the following into the console:

help (npc name) 4 npc_

Example, you want to make a safe owned by Piper, click on the safe and type in

setownership 2f15

next time you attempt to interact with it, it'll be marked as "steal" instead of "take". Using this in combination with the lock command can be useful to exploit "likes" from characters that enjoy lockpicking and theft (for example, Cait).
Thank you. It probably was your post I saw. I knew I read something a few days ago. I don't use commands for 'cheats' but I will use them for NPC's staying out of the way! :)
