Does power armor add radiation resistance?
If so, do I need a full set?

It makes you very resistant to it, adding on per piece.

It won't remove radiation you can only use it to resist radiation. At the power armor stand you can add lead plating to the suit which is a significant upgrade on its standard resistance. You need a full suit for best effect but each piece on their own will add their resistance rating. the Hazmat suit is the only thing better for radiation protection I think but tbh I've never used one. I've always used my lead plated T-51 :-)

PA makes you resistant but not even the Hazmat suit makes you utterly immune.

I like making up Mutant Mutt Chops (cook them after getting several pieces of Mutant Hound Meat from the big green critters the Super Mutants raise). It restores health AND remoses rads without the nasty side effects Radaway gives you under Survival mode.

Power armor + Hazmat Suit? How would that go?

to remove radiation see a doctor, or.. if you have WW dlc, build a decontamination arch at your base settlement, or all your settlements, then just run through it.

I don't mean cure, I mean prevent :P

Yes it will prevent most radiation. In addition you can install rad scrubber which will remove radiation from food or water you consume.

well you said 'remove it', maybe fix that in your Op.

I use this http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/7515/?

It's fairly OP if you use power armor all the time unless you play with enemy damage upscaled quite a bit. Also makes enemies in power armor huge threats as well though.

For vanilla there is the last rank of the ghoulish perk if you have Nuka World. That causes you to slowly heal radiation.

Wouldn't work. Power armor removes any bonuses your clothes or armor have, you will only get the benefit of the power armors rad resistance.

Hazmat suits have the best rad resistance in game, but next to no damage resistance. Power Armor has a mix of both rad resistance and damage resistance. If you are focusing on stealth then a radiation/hazmat suit would be the best way to negate most radiation in the game, you'll still get rads but it'll be a trickle compared to what you get without it.
Nite69 Mar 10, 2017 @ 1:25pm
You honestly don't even need power armor in this game, (fully upgraded standard armor is fine) and you can get through heavy radiated areas with the hazmat suit just fine if you use stealth or kill from a distance before they get near you

Well, in the vanilla game, anyway.

If you're counting the Far Harbour DLC, the Robes of Atom's Devoted (from Far Harbour) can do even better, since once they hit their maximum radiation level, you won't gain any more radiation and can even restore all your health, despite the health bar still looking red. Glory to Atom!

You dont need ayn extra armor for radiation.

Just use rad-x on those few places with high rad ( like Glowing sea..). Anywhere else(=most common areas) high rad resistance dont help you much anyway as there is still minimal treshold you get unless you mitigate it by perks (water, food, ghoul attacks, rad fog..).

If you have proper settlement network (msot likely necessity on surival) you can get rid off radiation at radiation arch for free and without any secondary effect. At least I did nto need sovle rad loooong time as I return to sleep regularly..
