If you want to keep the wires outside then don't make the rooms on each floor any bigger then 3 blocks wide (by blocks I'm talking the floor pieces)
so do like a 3 x 6 block room or 3 x 9 block room or whatever length you want
also if you remove a wall then place a conduit on the floor you can put the wall back and it will go into the next room.
this video showed me how to do it its 43 min long so start at about 16 min in show what i am talking about

as you see in the image, the through wall conduits are actually totally outside.
Use the through wall conduits and use the longest one of them as it reaches from floor to ceiling.
Best to have all your floor sections all pointed in the exact same direction for a guide.
At each end of the building remove two sections of wall panels. (you'll snap them back in l8r)
Place your sections of conduit along the floor in line with the center of the floor panels.
Once you get everything lined up along the floor the way you want them,
Move the conduit sections from the floor to the ceiling
repeat for each floor.
Once all floors are completed connect the inputs together with wire,
snap the wall panels back into place
Bit tricky to get the hang of, but once you do you'll be able to duplicate it over and over again.
When running power inside a building I try to use wall mounted conduits to avoid walking through low hanging wires.
This is damned clever. I always used those the other way around with the single connection sticking INSIDE the wall by just a fraction and then running wires off of that. But that's because I always considered conduit too fussy to use. Guess I have to brush up on my skills...again lol
