Most usefull S.P.E.C.I.A.L stat for survival?
I've heard some people say INT for weapon mods.

others say END for hit points.

and others still say AGL for sneaking.

END also for Solar Powered/Aquaboy.
STR for carry weight/melee damage.
CHR for stores/Lone Wanderer.
PER for VATS accuracy.
LCK for criticals.
INT for Power Armor

Now combine this with the information you have and pick out what is most important. That will be your build.

END, you are going to want health. Lots of health.

I can say without a doubt that PER is the worst choice. I always keep it around 3 or 4. Put it one lower then you want it at the start since you get the PER bobblehead really early.

anything to do with diseases that ya get, you want to be resistant to that as much as possible

does PER even do anything in survival mode? besides unlock perks?

the compass doesn't show enemies or friendlies so theres no need for it there..
honestly what does PER even do in Fallout4?

its the distance you detect the enemys at, they don't have to show on the compass, just the distance to visually see them

my PER is only half way up, I had enemys shoot me from the distance but I couldn't see them until I got closer

For me (I play sniper build and without using VATS most of the time) is:
STR 3 Armorer
PER 3 (+1bobblehead) Rifleman and Locksmith
END 1 (+1Book SPECIAL)
CHA 6 Lone Wanderer and Local Leader
INT 7 Gun Nut, Chemist and Science!
AGI 7 Sneak, Mister Sandman and Ninja
LUCK 1 (I pik Bloody Mess when i have extra points) I dont use Better Criticals because only works on VATS and not with sneak attacks

Is a very fun build for me.

Probably perception, because the PC gets dehydrated 4 times faster than a normal human being.

I had this discussion with my co-worker the other day. I told her Perception is most useful for VAT users, as she uses it frequently. We both agreed that it assists with identifying NPCs from certain distances, however, I'm not sure of any actual stats regarding this statement....Can anyone elaborate on this?

I've never noticed any difference to visual range due to PER, that, as far as I know is completely controlled by the actor fade slider in the settings.
I only notice increased VATS odds, and theres a bunch of very good perks in the PER tree too, rifleman, demo expert, sniper, penetrator and concentrated fire.

It likely makes enemies appear on radar from further away on difficulties below survival too, just like in the previous games.

I don't know either, but I always put it to 10. Just because perception is the first bobblehead and I won't eat a bobblehead till I have 10 in the stat. It's... weird, maybe.

After my first Survival playthrough eneded in an infection-filled disaster, ALL of my Survival toons have Int 7 now. Min End of 3 for Perks. Make sure you can get Hacking and Lockpicking early on too. Oh, and Str to carry stuff

Agility Agility Agility

My sneak / ambush / no power armor build on survival is the best one yet. If you get discovered before you ambush, just sprint away with your godly agility and hide again, there's even a perk called 'Moving Target' especially for that.

Now I aint gonna lie, it's rough going for about the first 10 or 12 levels, until you get 2nd level of sneak perk. But, you can greatly enhance your play by only operating AT NIGHT. Sneaking during the day is dumb and doesn't work very well ever. Sleep or build stuff in the daytime.

Max agility means you have more VATS attacks, sneak better, have better aim in VATS

I use a knife (Pickman's blade) and sneak around AT NIGHT (get at least one level of Night Person perk) and I'm virtually invisible to enemies. I've bumped into eneimes at night and didn't have the stealth meter turn to [DANGER]. That's how good sneaking is at high lvl and AT NIGHT.

Pick your weapon perk - I chose melee b/c stealth kills generate the least amount of sound but can still make nearby enemies suspicious. Kill a raider and move back into the shadows for example. Sometimes another raider will walk over and be like "Oh crap! Look at this!"

Primary Perks - Sneak, Sandman, Blitz, and Ninja

Secondary Perks - Better Criticals and Bloody Mess to ramp up ambush damage. I don't have or need any of the gun perks, though I do use a silenced .308 rifle for headshots when the situation calls for it. Also, get Aqua Girl / Boy perk EARLY in the game. Saves so much misery from radiation.

I use and require very little ammo or other supplies at higher levels. I have massive amounts of stuff to sell. Haven't used a stimpack in days. Have hundreds of them. I do use Psychobuff and Yao Gui ribs and occasionally slam a Nuka Quantum if I need to fight a dangerous enemy straight up.

I carry explosives with me - lots of them - and quietly make mine fields near large enemy locations, then trigger or lure enemies into them by sniping.

Sneak up behind a raider and press ALT with a knife.

Best. Thing. Ever.
