Lack of interesting NPC's and locations.
Due to the settlement bulding aspect of the game, the map is largely devoid of interesting areas, npcs, and quests.

I find it dissapointing. In FO3 and NV, we could always find cool areas, interesting quests, and npcs, while this game is devoid of that.

If they were going to add settlement bulding, they should have blending it together will other npc driven towns and npc filled areas also.

Then you haven't gone anywhere then.

Most interesting NPCs in the entire franchise. Say what you want about various flaws in the game, but your claim about lacking interesting NPCs means you haven't played the game. And interesting locations? Tons of them! Have you even managed to find your way outside of Sanctuary Hills yet?

I have over 200 hours into this game, you are just trolling at this point.

The game opens up as you level up . That is to say more locations open to explore .

the main character in this are way better than vegas as are the locations.

i mean new vegas had house and thats it as far as intresting characters as for locations new vegas had none even the main city was lacking how the hell is it suposed the jewel of the post war world when most of the citys back in 1 and 2 were better off?

The game is full of interesting locations. Bethesda's open world excels in its environmental story telling and Fallout 4 is no exception. There was nothing of interest to find in New Vegas which compares to what I can find in Fallout 4. Fallout 4 is a massive improvement over 3 and New Vegas in every area (even though Obsidian made New Vegas).

House wasn't an interesting character, he was just a computer that invalidated all of the choices the pc made by saying just as planned no matter what you did.

Well he was still the most intresting character in the base game.

What in the actual ♥♥♥♥ are you talking about? House, Graham, Caesar, Arcade, Hell even Big MT had some amaznig characters. Fallout 4 has some interesting characters i admit, i particularly like Father and the guy from the childrens company that made toys that i cant remember the name of atm, But saying F:NV only had House is just wrong. Characters like Ulysses who were present through multiple DLC's were what really interested me. Characters like DiMa and NV never had any real interesting story, atleast in my opinion.

Gannon was eh at best, and was way too young to be a Remnant anyway. I didn't find him interesting at all.
House was interesting, but not as a character; more of what he has done, and his past.
Ceaser was kind of eh. I liked him, but not very interesting. (his Current legate is probably more interesting)
Graham was interesting, but again, not really himself. His past was the main interest for me, while he was only a little interesting when you met him.

Ulysses is kind of hard to say. He is more mysterious then interesting for the most part. He would probably be more interesting if more was explained about him, and his past.

How many of those 200 hours have been invested into settlement building, as opposed to exploring the game?

As others have said, there are some amazing locations and characters in FO4, not all of them obvious, and many of the best locations and moments are not marked with a compass pip, or quest marker (someone mentioned the toymaker - Arlan Glass - which brings a tear to my GF's eye each time she returns his holotape), forcing you to really get out and look, rather than just be lead around by the nose...

Gannon wasn't part of the Remnants himself, he was the child of Enclave members, growing up after the Enclave collapsed... And yeah, I found him damn'd annoying...

Big mt was dlc i was talking the base game as I actually liked new Vegas dlc plot line seeing as it followed the theams that fallout was built on and didnt try to be a bad cowboy/war simulator like the main game did.

If your bringing up dlc I'll admit i liked the think tank and the dead money characters and thought they were well written with no issue.

However ceaser is a poorly written character who existed only to provided exposition dumps and act in horrible stubif and contradictory ways.

Graham was a one dimensional revenge obsessed none character

Gannon was well plain boring and added nothing to the game.

Ulsses was alright but hes nothing special.

OP, you are just plain unbelievable.
JustOnePepsi Mar 4, 2017 @ 4:54am
OP is correct. The game is bland as hell. The most interesting NPC is a damn dog...
