Take Power armor to Far Harbor?
Is it worth it to take my T-60e power armor set to Far Harbor? Or do I stand the risk of being caught under water without a way to get back to the surface? First time going into Far Harbor BTW. Any other advice is appreciated!

You...get a quest, which sends you to a boat, which takes you to far harbor?

Storywise, you should do that quest.

Read the post he is asking if the area is Power armor friendly.

Better without at least for a day get your barings. If you not on survival you can fast travel and pick up if you feel you need.

Power Armor is fine. The only time you need to go underwater (if at all) you have plenty of notice to take the suit off.

There is a LOT of radiation on the island, so a suit of power armor helps a lot while exploring. Plus there are a couple of new sets on the island with unique paint jobs.

I read his post. Assuming from his grammer use of "I am taking my power armor TO Far Harbor" and mentioning being caught underwater without being able to surface, I thought it pretty reasonable to assume that was what he meant.

OP, if that isn't what you meant, than yes, you can still wear power armor in Far Harbor, and find power armor there.

Do you have Aquaboy? If so feel free to take power armor. There is always a shoreline you can walk to.

All challenge will be gone if you go in power armor. I find Far Harbor the best place to test survivalist builds.

Then your reading comprehension sucks.

How does any of that even answer his questions or give him advice about power armor? Your reply does not even mention a single thing about power armor.

He did not need you to tell him he should do the quest becuase he already told you he was going to do it.

Yeah that was my thinking, radiation would be minimized in power armor...and I do like me some paint jobs!

Yes that is what I meant, I should have made it a touch clearer admittedly. I'll be going with the companion you find on the island and taking Dogmeat too (Everybody Loves Dogmeat Mod FTW!)

Yes I do actually! That will be immensely useful. I don't know why everyone hates on that perk so much! Its crazy useful! Maybe I don't want to have to craft 40 Mirelurk cakes!

Ah ha....well again this my first time playing the DLC and not survival mode. Maybe next time when I know what to expect.

Dude, chill, please don't start a war with someone over this. Honest mistake and I could have worded it better.

You worded it just fine. He did not answer your questions one bit in first post of his. It was nbot until someone else called him out for it he actaully answered your question.

Yeah besides the usual group of useful perks, Aquaboy and Solar Powered are the two most useful perks in Far Harbor.

But then again people have complained about Aquaboy with regards to its usefulness and immersiveness, but each to their own.

Far Harbor is just a few settlers on a pier. Most of Far Harbor Dlc is in Maine.
DouglasGrave Feb 28, 2017 @ 11:18pm
As far as the original question goes, there are a few islands that are difficult or impossible to reach without crossing open water, but you should be mostly fine with power armour as long as you don't throw yourself off a pier.
Nite69 Feb 28, 2017 @ 11:57pm
You don't need power armor anywhere, for the very few heavy radiated areas that the game has I got by using the hazmat suit and upgraded metal armor

also you can get the aquaboy or aquagirl perk if your worried about being underwater too long
