Can't recruit or dismiss ada please help.
At first I couldn't dismiss her, then I uninstalled my unlimited companion mod and that dismissed her, but now I can't get her to follow me. I can't find anyone else on google who has had this problem and I don't know how to fix it. any suggestions at all would be appreciated.

here is my solution:
Open console (Press ~)
Select bugged companion (Plz confirm the right ID), and type following 3 command
setconsolescopequest
setplayerteammate 0
removefac 23c01

Then my companions can recurit again. Hope this helpful.

when I tried to dismiss her she would act like she was going to, but the dialogue option to choose where to send her wouldn't show up

now when I ask her to follow me she acts like she's going to, but the dialogue stays open and she doesn't follow me.

I had a problem like this on xbox (no mods), and I solved it by getting another companion and then asking ada to follow me again. good luck

Unlimited Companion Framework

LEL also explains another problem I was having during the mechanist mission. I disabled the mod and I thought that would've fixed it if it were that mod. Guess I should've checked the mod page first. I'm gonna take a look through it and see what I come up with. Thanks

If you manage to find something not on the page be sure to post back here because I'm in the same situation haha.

well I've pretty much tried everything they mentioned and none of it fixed ada. All my other companions are working fine, but they weren't really having problems to begin with.
Same here, always had trouble with releasing my companions since I began travelling with more than one, thanks to mods like Unlimited Companion Framework. But something got very wrong from there...
Ada didn't want to leave really, and I couldn't get that location options pop-up either with her, while it was always available with Piper and Cait, my two regular companions. I had to delete Ada for good, against my will...
Sorry, no idea how to fix that, even after trying everything as well. I had the exact same problem with Preston, and was forced to delete him, after his quest, just like with Ada. Some mods failures I suppose, but it doesn't matter, I love mods forever for they also come with failures, and I couldn't play without them...

The only problems I have had with EFF.esp is not letting the dialog complete. If the dialog is skipped they sometimes dont work. Other than that never had a problem.

Been using that mod since the game came out. A must have mod.

It might happen if you begin playing too much with the mod settings, then unactive/delete the mod then reactivate it for some stupide reasons of mine. Mods settings might be a bit lost with brainless players like myself...

You could try to modify Ada on the robot workbench. Perhaps with a bit of luck will this reset some of it and Ada becomes available again. Just as an idea, may not work however.

sdack, I actually tried that too, didn't work. I tried waiting 24 hours, didn't work. Sleeping 24 hours, unsurprisingly did not work. I ended up reverting to a /much/ older save to see if she was broke, and she was not. At this time I had the mod uninstalled. This shows to me that something happen that broke her in my save file. So no matter what I do, she is broke, and is going to stay broke. Unless I could fix her ai in the save file, which I do not know how to do, then I'm pretty much ♥♥♥♥♥♥. What I /think/ broke her was the mechanist questline, in conjuction with the mod. Something broke and I'm not going to be able to fix it since I've already saved well over it.

That's the only thing that would have affected her before I realized this was a problem.

And since the previous save was during the questline I was doing immediately before I decided to finish the mechanist questline, it pretty much proves that it's what caused the problem.
