Automatron, Ada (with M-Sat) can't open a door?
I've been successfully opening tons of doors with Ada equipped with that M-Sat and al of a sudden she can't open (one of the latest?) right after that huge battle with many robots, the door you can access with that moving platform.
I tried many things, and didn't find any help on the net about that door.
So, if ever a player remembers having the same problem... and hopefully the same solution?

Okay, of course I hadn't even finished writing I found a solution. Strangely, that door could be open only if I only had Ada or any M-Sat equipped robot with me. I had to fire my two usual companions and Ada opened that door like she did with all the other doors before.
And please, don't ask me why!
Just in case that thread might help the nest Sole Survivor in that same area...

Did you have the other companions with you at the time ?
I opened maybe 10 doors with Ada's help, and Cait and Piper were next to me as always. When Ada first tried, and failed, that door, they were around. As soon as they left, Ada was able to open the door.

I had the same happen to me . Waited a minute and Piper walked up and unlocked it with her M-Sat . unlimited companion mod .
Piper with a M-Sat? I thought that was only for automat?

I think its the companion mod .
I'm using it but didn't see the M-Sat option in it. I'd take a look. Thanks already.

I found the solution!

In short: If you use a multiple companion mod, then even if you placed your M-SAT in Ada, Ada won't necessary be the one that animates the door opening sequence. Bring all your companions close to the Access Port before you command your robot to open the door. In my game it was Curie!

Long version:
Like many, I added the M-SAT to Ada, so I assumed that I had to bring Ada close to each door. Up to this point it had worked after some fiddling. Then I reached the place after the moving platform where I brought Ada close while letting the other companions wait below the platform or on the other side. I spent 2 hours trying to get in.

"Gordon Freeman" gave me the vital clue since he claimed it was Piper who opened the doors for him. That made me remember that I always found the M-SAT animation to odd in my game since it looked like the blue beam didn't originate from Ada. I figured that maybe this was because another companion was the source. After summoning all my companions into the little room across the pit with console I waited. Less than a minute later Curie walked up to the Access Port and opened the door. In the next room I messed around a moment trying to get Curie to open the door. After commanding Ada to open it again, Curie ran up to the Access Port and opened it.

The good news is that even if the M-SAT is incompatible with a companion mod, you do not have to go through the hassle of firing your companions to solve it. You only have to figure out which companion are the assigned M-SAT carrier in your game and bring him/her close.
