next time wait and read reviews before you download 50 gb of nothing
Unchecking the box made Steam automatically remove the entire package from my PC, returning the 50GB of space.
Otherwise, yeah, I assume you can just delete the "DLC High Res Texture Pack.ba2" whatever it is. There's like 10 of them.
2. Select this game.
3. Go to DLC pane (all owned DLCs are not visible there until you click on [in my case] "Manage My 8 DLC."
4. Scroll down in the list of installed DLCs and UNCHECK the entry for the high-resolution texture pack.

¹
1. Go to your Steam Library by clicking "Library" at the top.
2. Click on Fallout 4.
3. Click on "Support" to the right of Fallout 4.
4. Scroll to the bottom, if you have the season pass or a lot of dlc, click "Show all DLC"
5. Click on "High Resolution Texture Pack"
6. Click on "I want to remove this permanently from my game library"
After removing it I can not even tell the difference.
after doing this procedure, the 50 GB remained in my Steam folder. To solve this I did the following:
1. Go to your Steam Library by clicking "Download" at the top
2. Click on Fallout 4
3. Right click on Fallout 4 and select "Propierties"
4. Click on "Local Files"
5. Run "Check file integrity ..."
6. After completing the scan, all "DLC High Res Texture Pack.ba2" files have been deleted and you will have your 50GB back.
That's it, I hope I've helped!
This is indeed great help. But All I did was untick the DLC, shut Steam and reopen it. Then, the 50GB were back for me!
If you are running mods then I think running step 5 might cause problems. Not 100% sure but I thought I re-verified game files on a modded game once and it reinstalled the non-modded versions and screwed everything up.
