High Resolution texture pack causing face to be the wrong colour.
After installing the high resolution texture pack, all of my characters faces are black, regardless of what they where before. It's just the faces, which causes a weird mismatch between their faces and the rest of their skin.

To add. I have tried closing and reopening the game entirely, reloading old saves. Reloading other characters. The only thing that stopped it hapenning was moving the DLCUltraHighResolution.esm file out, which disables the texture pack.

This is on a moddless installation as well. (Other than F4SE, but there is no difference when launching with or without).

My Specs are:
CPU- i7 7700K @ 5.0Ghz
RAM- 32GB @ 3000Hz
GPU- GTX 1080
The game is on a Samsung 960 Pro 512GB SSD.

Here is a screenshot demonstrating the issue.

I have painstakingly narrowed the texture files that cause this down to a handful of definites, and a bunch of possibles. They are all in the archive DLCUltraHighResolution - Textures01.ba2
The definites:
Textures\actors\Character\BaseHumanMale\BaseMaleHead_s.DDS
Textures\actors\Character\Mayor\Mayor_s.DDS
Textures\actors\Character\OldHumanMale\OldHumanMaleHead_n.DDS
Textures\actors\Character\OldHumanMale\OldHumanMaleHead_s.DDS

The Possibles:
Everything with the _s.dds suffix in the folder Textures\actors\Character\Character Assets\FaceDetails (About 80 files)

I just found a Fix for that (not an ideal one but it works)

enter in console mode (in my country it's the key "ù", check on internet what's your console shortcut key)

in console mode type the following command

showlooksmenu player 1

Press enter and you will see a face modeling menu appearing :-)

Exit the console mode by pressing the same shortcut key (in my case "ù") and choose a new face until it has the right colour. Once it's done you can go to the surgeon of diamond city and remodel your face like you want it to be :-)

I hope this will help

Note that running this command in console mode doesn't block achievement :-) I tried with Home run (to do in Diamond city) and it worked perfectly, I unlocked the achievement !

I've tried this, unfortunately it didn't work. It even happens in the character creation for a new save.

I get what you mean now, switching to a "pre-made" face does seem to fix it.

Nope, just want my characters faces to match their body. It's a very disjointed look, you can even see the previous colour on the hairline.
yes exactly, and then you can go to a surgeon in Diamond city to modify your character :-)

Here is the screen with the console command executed

and the result

When you modify your character make a save before going to the surgeon because some changes put the dark skin back ;-)

sorry for my english it's not my mother language :-)
It looks like it's definately an issue with the contents of the archives. I disabled the pack temporarily by just moving the .ESM out, and the faces went back to normal. I've looked at the ESM in FO4Edit, and it looks like it's just used to tell the game to use those archives, as it doesn't actually make any changes.

I will add this to the OP as well.

Happens here, too. The fix is simple, quicksave and quickload, that'll cause the game to display the face correctly. I'm not sure if this is caused by low VRAM or a bottleneck on storage reading speed, but it's where i'd look first.

This is not the same bug.
You need to remove the new face textures. They are too small (because Bethasda is incompetent), so they cause this when you use mod face textures aswell.
You can either delete the "DLCUltraHighResolution - Texture 01.ba2" completely (so you get the non-texture-pack-textures for all creatures) but you also have your faces fixes.
Search for my other topic for a fix that lets you keep all textures, but requires you to use a ba2 extractor.

Never had that problem, but I guess that's because I repacked all the modded textures into a new archive; currently sitting at 224 gigabytes in my installation folder, going a bit crazy with the 4k textures..
As a temp fix

I've unpacked the archive, removed those files, and moved tha actual archive somewhere else, and now it's all good. This seems alright as a temp fix, but I hope bethesda fix this.
I had the same issue while using a face texture mod called "beautiful skin complexion," it only affected my main character, disabling it solved the issue.

I downloaded another skin texture mod (because I hate the wrinkles in the original textures), tested it, works for now:
http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/3841/?%C2%A0

I have every dlc installed with another 6-7 mods.
My specs are:
Intel i7-6700
NVIDIA GeForce® GTX 1070
16GB RAM with 256GB SSD and 3TB storage
The game runs well on highest settings all over, 55-60 fps mostly.

In case if you need any more details, let me know.
take a look here: http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/21907/? and look Osnius comment on Posts, fixed for me ^^
I also got this problem after installing the HighRes texure pack:

http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=861139716
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=861139692

Face surgery alone does not work.
I guess I'll just uninstall the texture pack, because this is very annoying!

Still not sure how people are even getting this problem, especially with people not being able to go fullscreen with the game since launch (yes there are people who still can't).
Are you using any textures mods, or are you getting this problem in a vanilla environment?
