Is it me or is the lighting on character models just awful?
When I play Skyrim with a full ENB the lighting is usually really good, especially on the character and their face.

I noticed FO4 lighting, even with the current partial enb and reshade it just makes the face look terrible in most circumstances.

Here's one of the few instances where I can get some decent lighting on the character.

I don't have any pics of what I'm talking about but it's the usual Bethesda thing, where lighting on the characters face just hits really harshly in most circumstances and just looks unnatural.

In Skyrim on the other hand the lighting on the character model looks good 99% of the time with an enb.

Do you think we just need to wait for ENB to be developed as in depth as it is for the Skyrim version?

Actually here we go... some examples of what I mean

Reshade+ENB

Skyrim has it's own share of this problem ofc but ENB eliminates almost all of it, for example

I don't know if FO4 just has more harsh lighting angles or if there really is something off about it.

It's more realistic that way, not like there's invisible lighting source follows your character around.

When there's enough realistic light source they look great

No those pics I showed you aren't especially realistic.

The lighting tends to end up too weak or too strong on the characters face in these instances, yes a directy up or down angle will look bad on just about anyones face but it's just odd.

I'm wondering if it has to do with the early status of Fallout 4 ENB.

Fallout 4 ENB isn't early, although looking at your screenshots either you dl a very early preset or you haven't got a preset at all, mine looks great.

The preset I'm using was updated November last year, that's not that long.

Besides no other preset has quite the look I was going for.

I still feel there are more instances than ENB Skyrim where the face lighting looks off, typically overly harsh or too weak for the distance. Mainly in interiors tbh. Outside usually isn't that bad.

♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥!

90 % of the time, people complain about lighting on characters they forget that "CL OFF" is a thing.
