Nuka Colas do affect thirst. It takes one or two nukas to remove parched condition same as purified water).
Alcohol causes thirst when you drink it. (IMO beer and ale should quench thirst, but oh well).
Soups do affect thirst as do melons. But it took 3 soups to resolve parched as opposed to 2 nukas or 2 water so soups aren't very effective.
So I was nullifying the effect of the colas with the beer, and also because my character was severely thirsty maybe I had to drink a lot of colas to resolve it and that is why I wasn't seeing an effect.
He is right. The fatigue does NOT goes away, it only negates the CURRENT debuff while the cola is effect. As soon as the cola wears off you go right back to your current tiredness of Tired, Overtired, etc.
If it is an emergency you can always drink "dirty water" as long as you keep in mind next time you sleep you will most likely have an illness take hold. That is where you prevntion medicines come into play.
If it takes you four nuka colas to quench a thirst that can be solved by one purified water and you carry around nuka colas for thirst purposes then you are definitely playing survival wrong.
