Red Diamond Markers Over Multiple Mobs ??
Im currently level 30 plus in 2nd playthru , and doing the usual perk points thing , but now Im seeing red diamond markers over enemies , and I'm finding it a little annoying and distracting , its ok if theyre showing when Im in power armor, but Im not in any power armor , to see them, Im wondering if its the percption perk or perhaps a mod, I only roughly 50 mods atm, and doing a good search, some have said a rifle with a recon sight will do it,
I do have a rifle in inventory with that sight modded on it , but dont you need it to be equipped for that to happen , if thats what causing it ? ..
If its the perk perception doing it what level / rank would it coming from ? seeing all these red markers look to be quite close but are actually a further ditance ? which is distracting, ..
I'm also trying to work out wether is a good thing or bad to have over half of perception filled if that is indeed causing it ?

Its a marker you usually see once you've used a sight on a gun on an enemy. If you right click to square up an enemy in the sights(be it mod or otherwise), you'll red marker tag it usually. Just get used to it as it can be pretty helpful.

It could always be something with your mods, but some unspecified circumstances can also cause the effect of the relevant power armour helmets to stay on after you exit the power armour, so you could try putting on some power armour with that effect and then taking it off to see if it will terminate the recon marking effect.

Note, however, that this is to stop it marking new enemies (if you're having it mark them even when you don't have any recon effects active); enemies that have already been recon-marked normally stay that way until they get killed.

Does your companion perhaps have power armor with the Sensor mod on the helmet?

I know there is a upgrade on the helmet to mark your targets witha red pip I think its called which in a power armor is fine , but just running with modded armor and a companion can be a little daunting and distracting thinking sooo many near by when there a distance away, atm for quite a few hours I have been just getting around with just a companion and modded / crafted armor with rifles , guass rifle , grenades , ....
I dont have or let my companions use power armor for the moment, just my own suits , but was actually thinking of getting bits n ppeices and putting a full set together for them ... that way it wont matter if they lose a peice such like ...
So it looks like either percptioon or then recon sight I added to a riffle before i went out , when I get back to sanctuary hills Im going to remove the recon sight just see if thats it ?

Think there is an upgrade to the robots that will do the same.

that's a recon pip, it's a result of targeting an enemy when using a gun with a recon sight or power armour helmet with the recon mod, it's a good thing because it can help you track down enemies that you've lost sight of

Sry went to bed after I last posted, ..
Seeing it in power armor I dont mind , but seeing it all the time outside of a power armor , is a little distracting, but yes in a way is a good thing , but when your just thinking thinking there close and theyre quite far, is a semi good thing too , ..
Ok well thatsk for all your posts guys n girls ... :)

Don't use recon scopes and sensors and problem solved. Stop blaming the game for what you did.

Oommph, I am not blaming the game for anything , if you bothered to read my post you'd see I was merely asking where it was coming from! !

if you're using armorsmith extended, there is a mod for helmets and glasses that adds this targeting hud, I forget what it's called, but when upgrading helmets, gas masks or glasses, you usually have 2 or 3 options, and one of these puts the target markers you described onto most enemies within range

@ Wanderer3292 and Dinger plus Xyzzy, I dont use AE mod , but from previous posting relise its from a scope or sight I added to a gun, prior to heading back out , ..
There a little distracting in the form that it goood to see them and know there are enemy's around and where, but the where is not as close as they marker make it look is part of what im trying to point out .. thx for both your posts tho ..
@ Xyzzy, will look at that, but dont belive thats it , if I turn that off, and quest markers might not show either then if your quest npc is moving and you lose sight of them .. thx
