highest weapon damage?
i'm just curious,i'd think it's some sort of fat man

legendary effects are fair game for this

not asking about DPS just damage per shot

so what is the weapon with the highest ballistic/energy/radiation/poison damage and which has the highest overall damage?

bingo with the shielded barrel and cap boosting coil and a suppresser you cant silence a fat man so no sneak attack multiplier.

This is quoted from fallout 4 gauss rifle wiki page.......Its raw damage output per shot is outclassed only by the 6-crank laser musket and the Fat Man and its variants during general combat. However when stealth combat is involved, and a silencer is equipped; with the Mister Sandman perk 50% more sneak critical damage is dealt. A fully upgraded Gauss rifle along with a fully upgraded Ninja perk will boost the sneak critical to 5.25x the base damage (6.3x with Deacon's Cloak and Dagger perk). One can combine that with Rifleman 5 and can do approximately 2000+ ballistic damage. (As of patch 1.4 the maximum multiplier is 4.8) One of the highest amounts of single shot damage. During a field test with the 6-crank laser musket at its highest, the laser musket does not do as much damage as a fully upgraded and perk supported Gauss rifle.
The Two-shot legendary variant of the Gauss rifle is arguably the most powerful rifle in the game. With the right perks and the right circumstances this weapon can kill even the strongest enemies in a single shot.
Legendary versions can be acquired at level 36.

yeah i thought so,i posted this because i wanted to know if there's a better weapon than the gauss rifle i just got that does a ton of damage, but wouldn't the effect of double damage at full health make it better?

Most DPS you defently get out the Big Boy Launcher (2 shots for one) and the Nuka World Mod on it - Nukes everything away as long you hit it even on Survival :)

The Gauss Rifle you can Buy from Ronnie Shaw (Does more Limb damage) is defently one of the most OP Weapons in Fallout with when you get the Perks for it - Maxed out you can hit 95% to the Head as soon the come in to VATS Range and that kills pretty mutch everything in the Game with 1 Hit..

double damage everytime you pull the trigger is > then double damage at full hp :P not to mention full hp is sketchy at best if anything on the battlefield does 1 damge or it was hurt before it ran into you get no bonus on those legendarys

two shot does NOT=double damage,it adds another projectile that ignores damage mods so it's

base weapon damage+modded weapon damage

it's only double damage on an unmodded gun

i am unsure if the extra projectile is affected by the appropriate perk but still

Does "instigating" legendary modifier affect explosive damage? If it does then Instigating Fatman deals the highest damage per shot.
happychaos May 5, 2017 @ 3:03pm
yeah i know but the base damage on guass is high so its a big bonus as far as 2 shot weapons go and the iffyness of the being at full hp imo isnt even close and the second projectile gets some of the bonuses i cant remember which it gets and which it dont from perks and such
MoonPatch May 5, 2017 @ 3:03pm
i am not sure if it works with splash damage...you could always test it if you're curious enough

spawn liberty prime (highest health and resistances in the game as far as i know)

shoot with normal fatman

shoot with nuka launcher

shoot with instigating fatman

compare results

Both projectiles of "Two-Shot" weapons deal 80% of the regular damage so total damage increases only by 60% rather than 100%.

i'd think it might get the rifleman perk effects

i'd say the gauss rifle is best with either two shot or instigating when used as a sniper but i think it's strong enough to act as a mid to close range rifle with insane damage
