Help can't place objects on the castle floor
I just reached the castle and want to place furniture inside the castle but the objects won't accepted the floor as ground and are therefore not placeable... Does anyone know how to fix this bug?
Thanks in advance!

if there is a rug, overlap it with another and cover the floor, then the other items have a solid object to be placed on.

You could look into placeanywhere http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/9424/?
would have torn my own eyeballs out trying to make anything good without it.

I use that too, but I find if you can place a rug or mat down then edge it with others till the floors covered then you can put anything you want on them, a few places if it wasn't for the rug could never get the item set just right

I thank you for the fast reply. I will use the placeanywhere mod then. However, this is just a treatment for the bug syndrom and not a cure^^. Do you know how this bug is caused?

some places it's the floors, if you remove certain coverings which serve as a base level for the floor, for some reason after items just fall through. I used this mod in the castle and placed the minuteman hanging bunks that attached to the walls instead. http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/20697/?
Usually if there is a rug or mat or something like that leave it on the ground and set other rugs along its edges to build the floor for these places. The castle is one and I found the same thing with some of the ruined homes in different settlements. Or if you don't mind a higher floor, place a floorpiece down and build it off that using wood floor or concrete. Wood looks a little nicer.

Hi,
so I did some more searching and I found this bug fix for the aforementioned problem.

http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/20558/?tab=2&navtag=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.nexusmods.com%2Ffallout4%2Fajax%2Fmodfiles%2F%3Fid%3D20558&pUp=1

It worked for me and resolved the issue.

Disabling Scrap Everything fixed this issue for me. I just Disabled it in Nexus Mod Manager. Loaded the game and all was good. I read the other scrapping mods seem to sometimes have this effect also. (spring cleaning, scrap scrap, etc.)

True, but this appears to be different levels of annoyance. I was using Spring Cleaning on my last run, Scrap Everything in this run. What i found is that with the first i could not longer place turrets on rooftops, with the second i could. But now I cannot place anything on the inside ground floor of Taffington.

There are workarounds like using rugs. Place Everywhere introduces it's own set of bugs so i am avoiding it for now.

Hey everybody, Unfortunately this only works for the pc.
Its a little clumsy, but it works!
So all you have to do is take some shack floor or whatever flooring turns your crank, go to the top walkways of the castle, where you know there are room's and halls below, and build your entire floor.
Now the magic, simply modpos z -544 all those floor pieces and voila, you now have a viable build surface inside the castle hallways. The floor inside is also low enough that any overhang will be buried by the surrounding textures!

You could try what I've done . Simply go to the worshop , open up your menu simply put down wood floor paneling . Works for me .

if you didn't fix it yet you just download "Castle walls restored - Castle walls restored v1.3.3" it makes new floors.

Given that this post is from 3 years ago, what do you expect? The place everywhere mod is still good and here's the correct link:
