Can't get Hancock as a companion?

Okay, so I've been searching for a solution to my problem for a while, but nothing has come up. Basically, I have already completed the three big quests that everyone says need to be done first. (Cleared out the Pickman Gallery & completed The Big Dig and The Silver Shroud)

My problem is, Hancock never even gave me a chance to ask him to be my companion. I killed Bobbi during The Big Dig, and reported to Hancock after. Then I did the Silver Shroud quest but after I finished, all I'm getting is neutral dialogue. ("Something up?", "What's the word?", "I'm listening," etc.)

Did I do something wrong? I'd rather not have to go back two hours of gameplay just to get him, and he's my favorite companion, so I really don't want to continue without him.

Edit: I'm on PS4, if that helps.

Read the bugs section at the bottom. Sounds like that is your problem and the solution is worth trying.

Sorry, I was hoping that would work. Those are the only bugs I know of with him.

The only thing else that I know of that can possibly cause quest related problems is if you used the console to advance Any quest. That can and does cause some players trouble down the road.

One other thing companion related. If you have a mod that allows you to have more than one companion at a time, go to it's page and read the uninstall directions. Then uninstall it. Those mods have known issues that some players get.

he normally gives you 4 dialogue otions to choose from, the one down, could be X on PS4 (when you reported to him after The Big Dig) is the option to get him as Companion, he says something like: im getting lazy, i have to get out again (or something like that) then you can answer: Why dont you come out with me. (or something like that). Then he should go out on the balcony to talk to the Folks of Goodneighbor, after that you can get him as companion, try to reload a save during or before The Big Dig

PS: Silver Shroud Quest line isnt necessary to get him as Companion
