Taking Independence Quest Bug

So after I cleared the Egg clutches and the Mirelurk Queen Preston tells me I need to power up the radio transmitter and then after I attach 10 power to the radio transmisison nothing happens. Is this an ingame bug or what?

Try disconnecting the industrial water purifier, or maybe just SetStage to 600 so Preston talks to you.

Did you assign a minuteman to the radio station?

Check the mission on your Pip-Boy. See if all sections are marked as done. There's a notorious bug in which despite all nest being destroyed, they're not marked as done. I literally had that problem a couple of hours ago. If there's any portion of the mission marked as not completed even though you're positive that it was, try to do some of the stuff described in this thread:

1) did you connect to the connector near the roof or the one on top of the transmitter? the one on the transmitter is the correct one
2) did you also power the switch near the wall that lights the interior? if so you need more power as it also powers a water purifier

Thanks for your guy's comments but I've done all that. The quest in the PipBoy says power on the transmitter. I have connected 10 power to it and when I walk over to activate the transmitter nothing happens.

try disable then enable the minutemen dood that has to sit there or try a different power source i member having same issue i did something like this to solve i think

In settlement mode, when I look at the dude it doesnt even highlight him.

Did you flip the switch on the antenna? I made the mistake of not flipping the switch and was confused myself when I first did it

Yep it is switched on, but in my pipboy it still says to power up the transmitter and Preston is still telling me to go power up the transmitter.

Do I just type setstage 600 or do I have to click on Presotn first and then type in setstage 600?

Yeah, but, again, did you try sleeping for 8 hours? Fast travel to Sanctuary or someplace else? Completing another quest?

Yes I have done that.

I have the same problem. I complete everything up to powering up the radio, building two medium generators and connecting them to it. Nothing happens, and Preston just rambles on about taking back the castle. Even tried using console command to complete the quest, but Preston just says the same thing.

Incase anyone still has this problem in 2024, hook up the radio before Preston tells you to, haven’t seen this anywhere else but worked for me

Flip the switch again.

Ive had them do that where on is actually off. Dunno why it gets mussed up like that.
