Commonwealth Coffee Shelter
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1278343325

Come in, sit down and grab a cup. Coffee Room has arrived in to Commonwealth.

Feel free to stay in the topic, or jump outside of it. We are relaxed bunch. Don't mind about the super mutant standing in the corner. He is our resident poet. Robot acts as a bouncer.

What is this all about?
Coffee Room threads are general chat and modding threads that we have been making for Bethesda games. We have one for Skryim and one for Skyrim SE. Discussion about FO4 modding and troubleshooting has been going on in them. I decided that it was high time to make a thread in FO4 side.

These forums have been general conversation topics. They are also places, where people struggling with bugs and modding issues can poke around for help.

Usual stuff
  1. This is a Steam forum thread and respects Discussions Rules and Guidelines. Everyone responding to this or similar thread has read them and follows them.

  2. Regulars are bigger trolls than you are. No need to test that. I take no responsibility for someone ending up as a midnight snack, after serving him/herself on a silver plate.

  3. If you sign in to a modding site, then read their ToS. Don't just accept it, but actually read it. If you got banned from other Steam forum or modding site, then there is absolutely no point of complaining about that in here. ToS is there for a reason.

  4. We prefer that people make full forum posts about their problems. That way the problem is clearly presented and others searching for solutions to similar problems can find them more easily. If no one catches up with them, then you can ask help here, but let's use your own thread to solve issues from your game. Otherwise relevant questions will be left without answers and responses will be hidden from search engines.

  5. We learn by reading and doing. Not all players have extensive knowledge about FO4 as a game. We do have long experience from Bethesda games and modding tools in general. We also have tendency to poke under the hood and around modding tools, solving issues from mods and the game.

  6. Badgers have dibs for cookies.

Reply #1 will be reserved for links to tools, guides and tutorials. I will update it, when ever something gets done.

Have fun.

You're a star, IIja. Now I have another discussion thread to subscribe to. :-)

I would've thoiught it was cfs111's turn to open the next franchise of the coffee shop ....

If someone wants to do that, then I can smoothly slide back in to my power armor. :)

We had so much discussion about FO4 in other forums. I felt that people in this forum were being left out, when we were dealing with mods and issues outside of it. The whole UFO4P conversation and F4SE update: none of that appeared in this forum, where it would have been relevant for others to catch up with.

I will try to post at least relevant parts here, so that everyone can keep up with what is going on, when it is going on.

You forgot the mention that the very last comment in this thread is reserved for edge lords.

I thought this might be a good little guide to start off post 1

Thanks. I was just looking for it. I had not yet added it among my favorites.

Dropping by for a cuppa. Do we leave our power armor and doggy outside or are they welcome?

Just don't leave the fusion core in your PA. You never know who might be lurking. :-)

Dogs are always welcome. Poet is a super mutant. They don't really like power armors, but maybe he can write a poem about that?

Do not even know why I asked about PA, as I rarely use it this play through. Kassy is currently running around this world in a pair of shorts and half t-shirt with tgm inabled. Oh and pedantic_roc that is with mods as well, so really, really cheating here.

To catch up with UFO4P in this forum as well: update the patch to version 2.0.1a.

Version 2.0.1 had an issue with tripwires, which caused traps to stay armed and game to crash to desktop. This has been fixed in the latest update.

At last. Here's the type of thread I tend to avoid. h/t John Cleese et al.

I wish to complain about this game what I purchased not half an hour ago.

Oh yes, Fallout 4. What;s...uh...wrong with it?

I'll tell you what's wrong with it. It's not working, that's what's wrong with it.

No no, it's just not installed properly. Mods most likely.

Look matey, I know a dead game when I see it and I'm looking at one right now.

No no, it's just not set up properly. The game works fine when all settings are correct, mods set up well and the computer is up to scratch. Lovely game Fallout 4.

The settings, mods and the computer don't enter into it. It's stone dead.

No no, you must have done something wrong or your computer isn't good enough.

All right then, if my computer isn't good enough, I'll try again. 'ello little Fallout 4, I've got 32 GB of RAM for you and a quantum CPU. 'ello?

There, it started.

No it didn't. That was just you hitting my computer.

No I didn't.

Yes you did.

I never, never did anything.

ELLO FALLOUT 4 ! Testing ! Testing ! Testing ! Testing ! This is your nine o'clock alarm call ! (lifts computer and smashes it on the floor) Now that's what I call a dead game.

No, no...no. You broke your game with mods.

Mods?

Yeah ! You screwed up Fallout 4 with mods before you set it up properly. Badly set up mods stun Fallout 4 easily.

Look matey, I've 'ad enough of this. This game is definitely deceased, and when I purchased it not half an hour ago, you assured me that its total lack of movement was due to it bein' messed up and shagged out following an over-heating graphics card.

Well, it might be he's pinin' for vanilla.

PININ' for vanilla? What kind of talk is that? Look, why did my $%^&£ screen go black as soon as I installed that "Curie Does Dallas" mod?

Fallout 4 works fine in vanilla and when modded properly. Lovely base game, decent graphics too.

Look, I took the liberty of examing this game when I got it home and the only reason it had been sitting high up in the ratings is that it had been NAILED there.

Well, of course it had been nailed there. If I hadn't nailed that game down it would have nuzzled up to the edge of the screen, tore it open with it's source code and VOOM ! Feeeweeweeee !

"VOOM" ? Mate, this game wouldn't "voom" if I tried to run it with the entire computing power of the NSA. It's bleedin' demised.

No, no, it's just not set up right.

It IS set up right ! It's passed on ! This game is no more ! It has ceased to be ! It has expired and gone to meet its maker ! It's a stiff ! Bereft of life ! It rests in peace ! If you gits hadn't nailed it to the top of the ratings charts it'd be pushing up the daisies ! Its software processes are now gaming history ! It's off the twig ! It's kicked the bucket ! It's shuffled off its mortal coil, run down the curtain and joined the bleedin' choir invisible ! THIS IS AN EX-GAME !

(pause)

Well, I'd better replace it then. Sorry squire, I've had a look around the back of the shop, and uh, we're right out of copies of Fallout 4 that work when the user messes up the installation.

I see, I see, I get the picture.

(pause) I've got a non-Bethesda game.

Pray, can I add loads of pr0n mods to it?

Nnnnot really

WELL IT'S HARDLY A BLOODY REPLACEMENT IS IT ?

I am crafting seats as fast as I can. I am just raising the radio volume a bit.

Meaning that I finally had a change to test this one out. It is working. Volume might be a bit too loud, but it should be easy enough to tweak that in xEdit.
