Brother Jerkface demanded all my stuff, so I stuffed a double barreld shotgun in his face and pulled the trigger. Killed all other after that. Still they all counted as murdering.
Well.....I wonder where all the stuff went they got from other people?
And why the stuff laying around is still stealing, if I take it.
I didn't have to shot a soul.
Except the fact you probably screwed yourself on finding Emogene, lol.
+1
Yeah when it comes to that quest it is so twitchy and glitchy I try not to do ANYTHING that can evenly remotely bug it out. Especially being on survival without a console to fix the quest.
After the quest is done, then it is open season :)
Then agian that is what Fallout series is all about, options for different play throughs and learning what you really shouldnt do next time around, lol.
I thought so too. But I did that quest and another Brother Whathisface had spawned. I was able to give him a reply along the lines of "Last person who tried this shakedown died". Tickety boo thereafter. The lady was in back, spoke to me, then sauntered off to do whatever she likes doing. Turned the quest in np.
Mind you, that was when I played on an early game on someone else's machine. Erk...hope it's not changed.
I haven't been able to finish that one without console commands on one of my characters. This far after release, many patches and DLCs have been made, and the quest can still break. It's one of the worst quests to break too because it's a pretty big area you can't enter, and the charisma bobblehead is in there.
To answer the question, I insult brother what's-his-face and intimidate him into showing me where Emogene is.
If only life was that easy to fix. =)

Nope. The dude relevant for that quest doesn't spawn until that quest is started. You can without worry kill everyone and everything there before... it will even give you some additional dialogue. If you killed everyone there, and then try to talk to that Brother Whatever for Finding Emogene, then you can mention "I killed the previous leader of this little cult. I just thought you should know." and obviously that makes him a little... twitchy.
