Piper romance question - what's going on?

I've been trying to pursue a thing with Piper, but whenever the romance option shows up in a dialogue, it's red. So I don't click it, afraid that it'll fail and make things worse. She's already at maximum "liking" for me, got her perk and everything. I have 6 charisma, am I just not handsome enough or something? :P

Make a new savegame before you talk to her and try it? I have charisma 10 and maxed black window and still some speak checks are red...while i never failed any of them yet...

Piper just isn't into dudes. She prefers munching carpet. XD

All kidding aside, if you fail the romance dialogue, don't worry, you'll get many more chances. The higher your CHR, the better your chances are for success.

Yeah, it seems she's just not that into me for some reason. Oh well, I still got my fightin' Irish gal, Cait. She's better in combat anyway.

The red colour just means it's a more difficult check than the middle-grade orange or easy yellow. If you're having trouble getting a success on it, take appropriate measures to boost your Charisma before you make the attempt, putting on your nice clothes that boost Charisma, downing a bottle of booze (most kinds boost Charisma, but don't stack with each other), or even popping some appropriate pills if you've got them (Grape Mentats being the star of the show, but there are other drugs; just watch out for addiction).
