Fallout 4 Perks Upgrade
I've been trying to upgrade my perks on fallout 4 on PC. I can upgrade a single perk once , but after that I cannot upgrade the perk or any other perk again else the game freezes and I have to restart my computer.

For example: I can upgrade the 'Science' perk 1 time , but if I upgrade the 'Science' perk again , or any other perk, the game crashes. This is the case for every perk.

I am using mods from Bethesda and Nexus (no duplicates).

Any help is very appreciated. :)

This does not happen to me playing vanilla so I suspect it is one of your mods. Try uninstalling them and verifying game cache to get back to vanilla then verify that you can assign perks normally. If so then reinstall your mods one at a time and test this issue until you either find the offending mod or have reinstalled all mods without reproducing the issue.

It's definitely one of your mods. Please list the mods you're using.

I'll try that , how do you verify the game cache ?

I'm going to hazard a guess and say the "No perks - workshop mod" could be the culprit.

Either way I wonder what kind of issues that can rise from mixing Bethesda.net mods with Nexus mods. Would be smoother if you just stuck with one?

The 'no perk - workshop mod' was installed after the issue came up. I would agree with you about sticking with one mod provider but Nexus has some mods I want and Bethesda has some others , but I'll consider it as I have noticed the Nexus has a large collection of mods.

AFAIK all mods on Bethesda.net is on Nexus, or at least there's similar mods anyway. But Nexus have a lot that Bethesda.net don't have since Beth have a lot stricter rules on content.

That's settled then , I'll use the Nexus from now on. Do you have any suggestions on on mods that scrap clutter and plants (a PC version of 'scrap that settlement!') or any mods that unlcok workshops you haven't unlocked via quests ?

I don't really have any such myself, but the Nexus have categories for mods so that shouldn't take too long to find. :)

If you are trying to add the Science perk through the regular perk mechanics... try player.addperk <perk ID> instead.

It seems to have been a Bethesda mod , as I've just reinstalled my Nexus mods (and disabled all Bethesda Mods) and the issue has been resolved. Thank you all for your help. :)

Glad it was an easy fix. I had a Nexus mod that messed up assigning settlers. After hours of disabling mods and going back to old saves that didn't work... the only fix was to completely uninstall the game and start over.
