Settlement Recruitment Beacon Always On?
Got like 250 hours on this game and never had this come up. Recently I started a new game. When I settled Oberland station, I noticed a weird thing where all the recruitment beacons had to be turned off for the settlement recruitment station to appear on the ol' pip boy. However, recently I noticed the recruitment station is permanently available, even if the recruitment beacon is turned off or the settlement doesn't have one at all (even tried going to every settlement and deleting them).

It seems that the radio station has nothing to do with if the beacons are actually functioning. Even though the station is always on, the beacon at settlements only seem to recruit when the power is turned on.

While I'm glad it's just a cosmetic problem and the actual beacon still functions as it should, I'd like to fix it if possible. If anyone has any ideas, that'd be a huge help.

I'm doing survival mode with the unoffical fallout mod, save and sleep mod, consul in survival mod and one that gives dogmeat a backpack. All these mods are installed through betheseda's platform, not nexus.

Thanks in advance guys!

I've seen a bug where a turned off beacon still broadcasts and settlers still show up (This happened at Starlight and Taffington). So, I usually just store the beacon if I don't want it on. This seemed to eliminate the issue.

Ah, that's good to know that it might not work just to turn it off. If you store the beacon, does the broadcast stop?

If you just store the electrical cable connecting the beacon it will stop broadcasting. I never use the switch because they don't work consistently.

It is my opinion that switches are some what erratic. I do know that they need it's own power supply or tap to work. It cannot be tapped from other sources. I believe it needs to be the first tap from the power supply to work properly.

Wow, I wonder if this is a newer bug. I had about 250 hours (a lot of that being with settlements) before I had any problem at all. But that is good to know! I'll make sure to store the cable if I don't want anyone showing up and I'll let you know if that worked for me.

Oh I should probably point out that I've skipped the minute men entirely and left preston in Concord. I haven't even entered the city of Concord. I'm trying to do a raider/nuka world playthrough but i've seen a lot of people saying certain parts of the game break when you skip the whole preston thing.
