Game crashing at national guard armory?
As title states, I have no problem with anything in the office or anywhere, but as soon as I enter the armory and try to disable the laser tripwires or do anything at a certain point inside it crashes to desktop. Any clues to what my issue may be?

Personally I feel like it might be DLC related somehow, just on how it never happens anywhere that I know of. Also most of the mods I use are weapon mods

I have exactly the same problem, but have not found a solution as of yet. :(

Yea I tried looking and no one has the answer to this problem. So I have no idea where to even start. Would be nice if the game would tell me roughly what happened therefore I have something to go on.

1) System information?
2) Mod list?

Any mod, and I DO mean "any", can cause a problem like this, even though you may think the mod is totally unrelated. The files in this game (textures, meshes, etc) are NOT unique to a particular area or cell. What I mean by this is, lets say you're in The Glowing Sea and you see a rock. The files that draw that particular rock can be used to draw that same rock at Ten Pines Bluff for example. So if you have a mod that changes that rock in Ten Pines and the file is corrupted, you can crash your game when you come across that same rock in the Glowing Sea.

If you've already validated your game cache, sorted your load order with LOOT, and UPDATED every single mod to the latest version, your next step is to uninstall (NOT disable) your mods in small batches until the problem clears. Then install the last batch one at a time until you find the culprit.

It's a bugged istance, I bet any money that it's a BoS quest to collect an artifact that takes you there and the door that usually a Master Locked but is openable ? That's been that way forever. Some people that get it, it's permanent with that character save.

If this is the PC version you cna just go up to the tripwire, hit console (tilde key) and mouse click on the tripwire (you should get a numeric value with 2 letters at the end, that's the entity ID#) and type DISABLE in console to remove the tripwire. Do that to all the tripwires and you should be fine.

Those of you that'll chime in and say Well that NEVER happened to me... well good for you... it's a periodic bug that MAY occur and the cells loaded for that instance gets currupted.

This has nothing to do with mods.

Well it isn't just the tripwires im afraid, it crashes shortly after unlocking the first door and walking in. It might be possibly happening still because of the tripwires themselves without having to do anything to them but im not sure.

I was able to get around this by jumping over and avoid the lazers

I just encountered this particular bug myself. Was on the brotherhood of steel quest and opened the Armory. Upon entering the armory, the Turret above the door was immortal but did nothing. The tripwires were interactable but caused the game to crash just like the OP pointed out.

Solution I found after troubleshooting: Simply walk through the trip wires. The bug causing them to crash the game also seem to stop them from working as intended. Most everything else in the room seems to work as intended.

Only mod I have installed is the Unofficial patch fix.

If anyone else has this problem and finds a solution, feel free to add what you all know.

This exactly is what happens to me on point, expect I jump over the wires, unlock the first door and game crashes shortly after. Gonna try going in again and see what happens.

After more interaction to see exactly how bugged the instance was, my buddy and I found out that any interaction that the player has with the trip wires will crash the game. After unlocking the power armor room, the ghoul might also cause the crash when it "trips" the wires.

The thing we found out though was that if we used a trip mine and had it explode, it would trigger the wires normally and correct the instance (The turret starts firing and the protectron activates). Hope all the info I've provided helps.

Yes, can confirm this works and fixes the problem. Thanks man. All I did was place a frag mine against the locked door, let it get triggered and explode. Everything fixed itself
