[SOLVED]Extrem FPS drop in some indoor areas
I play Fallout 4 on High setting with only the shadow distance decreased for some extra FPS in cities. Normaly I play at around 60 FPS, in cities sometimes only 35 -40 FPS. However in some indoor areas when looking into a specific direction my FPS drops down to less than 1 (so its basicly a Slideshow). When I then manage to look away from that spot the FPS rises instantly back to around 60. I first thought that some extreme clutter could cause that, but it happens sometimes when I´m just looking at a wall with nothing behind it and I can not make any sense of it. Any help would be gladly appreciated :)

Solution: Just reloading the area might help, just exit as soon as it drops fps and then reenter. If that does not help just restart the game once( or twice appearantly). Fixed it for me

Are you using ELFX mod? I had this happen in 3 or 4 indoor locations with that mod. Worked great otherwise.
I can remember downloading it, but it is not in my Load order. Either I´m stupid and didn´t even download it or maybe I´m using an other ligth mod. But thanks for the idea that Lighting mods might be the issue !

mine are dropping to 5 at every start of combat, then i need to travel some way to get fixed. i havent been indoors yet, not counting vault 111. just started the game. those bugs were there at game release long time ago.

Weird, this was not because of mods. The first two restarts didn´t do anything, but it was gone after the third and hasn´t come back after the fourth. Thanks for your help, was appearently just a bug :)

CPU: AMD FX(tm)-6300 Six-Core Processor
Windows 10 (64bit)
Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 (slightly overclocked FYI)
RAM: 8GB

As stated it hasn´t occured again without me changing anything. But if this helps, there you go :)

Hello. You have not posted full specs, like your motherboard make and model and your drives, but I will try help too from what I understood.

1)Do you have properly installed all your motherboard's drivers?

2)Is your CPU configured properly-do you have turbo on, is cool and quiet enabled?

3)Did the GPU came factory oc or you successfuly did this and fine tuned it yourself? Are you aware of it being under normal temps on load?

4)Do you only have your gpu driver installed or geforce experience with it?Is this a clean or an express installation?
I appreciate you trying to help me but as stated, I dont need it as it has been fixed
