What are the strongest generic weapons without any damage perks?
Curious what the best weapon is without perks since I want to outfit my settlers with the strongest thing possible that's easily obtainable.

I've done some looking around and I from what I've found it's basically the Gauss Rifle / Fat man. Just looking to make sure my information is correct.

Only comment I have is; You DON'T want to arm your settlers with nuclear weapons!!!

Nono, I love getting blown up by my own settlers. Fat mans for all (or at least my settlements I have no plans to ever go back to if they are strictly for resource generation lol)

On a more serious note though, I included them on the list just for the sake of accuracy.

my fav weapon is Pickman's Blade (melee) unique.
from wiki,
"The blade actually has two distinct abilities. The first is its Wounding effect, which causes targets to bleed for an additional 25 points of damage. The second is a pre-equipped stealth blade mod which deals an additional sneak attack damage multiplier of 0.6, as well as causing targets to bleed for an additional 10 points of damage over the course of 5 seconds. This stacks with the weapon's legendary modifier for 35 points of damage from bleeding per hit, and bleeding effects currently stack per hit, making this an extremely effective melee weapon even against higher level enemies later in the game. "
[oh, generic... soz]

You decide.

This is literally useless. It doesn't factor in weapon modifications at all. It is what I used initially already too and if you read my initial post I had a conclusion but was wanting someone else to confirm my conclusions.

Atoms Judgement from Far Harborr, Super Sledge weapon with +100 radiation damage. Will literally 1 and 2 shot most mobs, lol

Any of laser chain gun, gauss or plasma should prove very effective.
Arguably a plasma 'flamer' could prove the most absurd of all of those.

Silenced, automatic assault rifles with a long scope.

Assault rifles are very common at higher levels. Because settlers don't need more than 1 ammo can one make these automatic and doesn't have to worry about wasting ammo. Best scopes give best accuracy. And silenced because it draws less attention and can give settlers a sneak damage bonus.

And yes, NPCs apparently can get a sneak bonus, which I had to learn the hard way. Not sure how this exactly works, but even your average Raider can do quite some damage it seems when he's fitted with a silenced weapon and you haven't seen him yet.

Highest damage with settler is said to be had from Gatling laser rifles, but these aren't the most common weapons.

It depends on what you mean by "easily obtainable". You'd also have to consider whether you've going to fully mod the weapons, or just use them in their base form. I tend to give my settlers assault rifles and combat rifles because those turn up very frequently and are generally much more effective than pipe weapons.

If you give your settlers better weapons, try to make sure that they won't instantly lay waste to their own food supply when they open fire, either by giving them weapons that are less dangerous to crops (high damage per shot, rather than high firing speed), using crops that are harder to damage, or keeping crops protected from being easily caught in the middle of battles. You will otherwise learn a particular hatred for corn.

Assault Rifles and Laser Rifles/Institute Rifles. Very common with mods already on them. Ammo is easy to obtain as well. Good fire rate with decent damage. Avoid AoE stuff, you will have broken ♥♥♥♥ everywhere.

Nah. It's nothing compared to Wounding Laser or Institute Rifle. Those can be modded to be both an automatic weapon and a scatter gun at the same time and the bleed effect affects all 5 beams separately. Even super mutant warlords melt down to nothing in a few seconds at close range.

Tis Generic, it's not a mod, and it's legit dlc mission reward
