It's because only Codsworth knows your true identity. To most you're the Lone Wanderer. To some you're just a stranger that they shoot first and ask your name later. To your son you're just Dad. To your wife you're Nate. Piper nicknames you Blue because she loves you. I call you nobody because I don't know you or care to.

Codsworth recognizes and speaks over 900 different names.
Recording them all for every character with different intoniations would have been a LOT of work.

K i originally meant to ask if there is any text or person that says your name, to think of it, it's kinda very stupid since codsworth says hundreds of names and making another voice actor say it all again is a bad idea

Well the answer to your question, if you are asking a real question, is that voice acting is very expensive. They had the actor for Codsworth record hundreds of names for a novelty effect. But it would be a HUGE waste of money to get all the companions and other NPC to record those same names. For those that don't use companions its entirely a waste. For those that use one or two companions it would be almost an entire waste. And for vendors to know your name isn't very realistic. Does your checkout clerk at the grocery call you by name? Mine doesn't.

Just be glad they spent their money developing other aspects of the game rather than gimicks.
