Cant read the "you are special book"

I dont know why but i cant read the book that gives the extra special point.

I stored it in the workshop in workshop mode and now when i want to use, my character keeps just picking it up without activating the menu to chose the point in,

i am not using mods or trying the dupe glitch, i just wanted to store it in the workbench for later use.

Try to take it out and then drop it onto the floor. See if it then works when you pick it up from the floor.

So if picking it up breaks the book then why the heck is it even possible to store it in the first place?

You need to use it before you store it. If you don't , you lose the extra point because it won't work.

Why are you even trying to store it? Just take the point and move on. You seem to be over-thinking this.

No clue. I don't use glitch/exploit or even mods. Use the console command to add yourself one point at worst or use mods.

If you want to keep that point for later, simply let the book lay on the ground where it spawned. Its not that you want to restore every pre-war house in Sanctuary hills, do you?

Or is it a risk that by passing npc´s pick it up when its left there? I dont know.

The reson i stored it was because i was actually building on and inside the house where the book is and it was in the way.

in the console spawns one "you´re special" book next to your char on the ground. Depending on the location it can happen that it falls into the ground and because its so thin it becomes unreachable so you probably have to try it again or change position.

Yeah i know i can use the console, the issue i got with this is that i spent almost 1000h on this game playing it legit with no mods/cheats/glitches.

I wanted to gain all the achivements before using mods and stuff.

No one cares if i use a mod to enable console and then another one to enable achivements but this is more of a psychological thing to me and at this point if i just ignore that extra point and keep my save clean it would effect me in the same way as doing it the otherway with mods to gain the extra point.

Restart the game. Play it better , smarter and extend this game's life for you :P

*lol * I get what you're saying with being a "psychological thing", meaning you're a perfectionist and you're screwed either way.

But think of it this way... The game isn't perfect and it does have it's little flaws and glitches. So you're perfectly save to help yourself to a perk point with a console command. You're not cheating, but you're fixing an otherwise imperfect game and make it perfect for you. You'll end up with the missing perk point which you should have gotten anyway, and you've fixed an imperfect situation, too. It doesn't get any more perfect than this.

The console command is:

CGF "Game.AddPerkPoints" 1

It will add 1 perk point to the chart for you to spend.

You can hold the book with 'E' and move it somewhere more convenient until you are ready to read it, this will not make it lose its power.
