Assigning Tasks to NPC's

I planted crops for food in Sanctuary and was advised I had to assign someone to work them. How do you do that? when I engage an NPC in dialogue there is no option to assign them work. Thanks!!

Hold "V" for Workshop Mode, press "E" on an unassigned Settler, then "E" again while targeting the resoure that needs a Settler. That can be artillery, as well as food or a shop.

The easiest way I found to handle beds is to create enough for the max number of settlers and then create yours last. This prevents Marcy from climbing into bed with you everytime since settlers appear to use beds in the order they were created.

A mod called Sim Settlements is your answer. It went from 4000 endorsements to over 8000 in literally a week, lol. A lot less micro managing on your part. You are supposed to be the leader of your settlements, not their mother. That said, you still have the flexibility to micro manage if you so choose.
