Not only defenders but attackers as well. Just imagine you roll the dice against passer. Your heading ability should be higher than the passer's Pass attribute. That would be really weird.

But for your situation, regarding your question, what's applying more is the combination of :
- If you pass, then the head players will do their check, they'll use their value above their head and will need to beat the previous cross factor result.
- It solved in the order of the pass.

there are 8 squares when you can cross, each of them around the sides of the box. It's easier to cross from nearest squares, but also from tiles near byline
